potions... i need potions.

okay, im doing fine right now except for one things.. im running out of restore magicka potions.. i dont know where to get since all the stores dont have them... my alchemy is low but i think i get increase it if i know how to make potions.. help??

Join the Mages Guild if not already, Their guild chest has some of those potions in every guild hall in the different towns.

The chest does regenerate its items, but not sure how long between them.

Another easy way to avoid using large amounts of restore magicka potions is to use a plugin, which regenartes magicka over the time. The rate is fast enough to get along with small spells that make travel easier, but if you are in seroius combat situations or cast need several spells with high cost, you will need potions. Thus, the plugin isnt too unbalancing.

There are Magic regeneration potions in Ald'rhun that im sure of, but just thought that they would all containe the same, but could be wrong.

Suppose i had to be wrong someday, been right everyday for the last 26 years.

[img]smile.gif[/img] or the mortar stuff... sigh... ill try the plug-in thanks chris but which plug-in is that?? im in the mage guild and i dont think those stuff regenerate over time in the supply chest. i have cash, but people just dont sell it.. and the people whom i buy it doesnt seem to restock.. i havent patched it yet.. im trying too but it dosent seem to work in my computer dunno why... thanks for the help guys [img]smile.gif[/img]

I use the Alchemy skill - it is one of the important skill, imo. Get it trained up, and go and steal Master alchemy equipment in an unguarded storeroom in Caldera - accessible from the ground floor of the guild and up a staircase. The better your equipment the better your potions. It is best to use all 4 pieces - but you do not need to carry them around with you! Until I have somewher to call my own, I stash 'em byt the beds in Balmora Mage guild, and pile ingredients on the bed too. (You can do this in any guld you are a member of.)

You need at least 2 ingredients to make a potion, and as you get better at it it is worth trying to make potions with 3 or 4 ingredients. Not too soon, though, because early on a lot of your potions will fail and using 3/4 will just be a waste.

Some 'special' potions you might like to try, using 4 ingredients:

Large Kwama Egg, Dreugh Wax, Ash Yam, Shalk Resin. Fortifies health and strength. Good to use just before a fight that looks a bit much for your char.

Large Kwama Egg, Shalk Resin, Emerald, Saltrice. The important part of this is that it both restores and fortifies health. As a bonus, you get a Magica boost and restored fatigue. Good to use in a battle when you think you might be losing! - Especially if you are a magic user.

Moon sugar, Kagouti Hide, Crab Meat (Saltrice can be substituted,) Hackle-Lo leaf. This increases your speed and restores your fatigue so you can run fast without getting tired.

to make potions, you need a mortar and pestle. Also useful are a calcinator, alembic, and retort. They come in varying quality from Aprentice to Grand Master. Use any one of these and the potions making screen will come up. The manual has more info. The ones that sell potions need time to remake them. A few days at least. The supply chests in the Mage Guilds are the same way. Not sure the actual time frame.

I downloaded it from www.rpgplanet.com (dunno the exact link at the moment, but I will post it, if I am at home...).
The plugin is called Manaregen V1.2, IIRC...

The time between resupplying the chests varies, I've noticed. Haven't figured out why, yet.
Once you can make your own potions it hardly matters, though. I am of the opinion that even a pure fighter should learn Alchemy as at least a minor skill.
