What's with the fountain? Isn't it supposed to replenish mana? The one that occasionally hexes persons in the party? The one that's right after climbing the rope? Is there something I need to do to make it work? I think it worked in the other game, but don't remember doing anything special... Help?

Edit: nevermind, I just checked again in game, and when I started just clicking it in frustration, it suddenly worked as I wished. Guess it's a random effect then...

Edit2: on a side note, got the portals where I wanted them now. Bishop has hers in the T'Rang teleporter room, Ninja's is next to the fountain, and Samurai can cast it where ever I am at the moment I want to visit the fountain... Ahhhh...

Yes.
Restore mana, heal, restore stamina, hex, maybe others...

Yes, though I find that if my characters have a few mana replenishing items like robes of rejuvenation, I don't need it very often.

Pretty cool, though, to touch the fountain and get messages like 'So and So regains 1100 mana points...

Its priceless in early going, and eleminates any need to rest. a second of camping de-hexs any affected characters.

Its the only place I train magic skills. Every time I need to go there, before I leave again I cast all the buffs and aids at level 7, and hit the combat button to cast bless, haste and summon elemental. Once any spell can be cast at level 7 in the yellow/green, though, it rarely provides a skill bump, and I don't bother any more.

Doing this has made my current party [2 bish, 1 sam, 1 val] much better magic users than other parties has been, even though I made some mistakes as to level up points and the like.

I always set my first portal there, second at the t'rangaporter, third on whatever level I'm doing, fourth at the merchant of the moment-- usually croc or ferro.

Oh, didn't think camping removes hex that fast. Altho as long as either of my remove curse casting chars doesn't have 100 in divine magic, I'm gonna keep using that in cases someone gets hexed

Don't sleep for 8: just hit the camp bar, watch the hexes dissappear almost instantly, hit camp again to wake 'em up. Prob. half hour to hour game time, max.

Don't need to rest at all if you are going somewhere safe, via teleport, but is dangerous to climb down the tree while hexed: was once attacked by a group of 6 hogars when I tried that, and you often see huge plant and/or picus groups in tryton after you've reached upper teen levels.
