Edwinna Elbert at the Mages Guild in Ald'ruhn wants me to "borrow" a book from Sirilonwe at the Mages Guild in Vivec. The book is called "Chimarvamidium." It's supposed to be in a chest in Sirilonwe's closet.

The book is not there. I've searched her whole room and even on her person and it's nowhere in sight. In the closet, there is a chest on the floor which says: Sirilonwe's Chest. I unlocked it and it's not there. There are also two other smaller chests in this closet, but again, no book.

Anyone have any ideas where else I might be able to find this book? Or what could possibly have gone wrong that the book is not here?

We There is a closed door in her room. Inside there is a locked chest (not a very high level lock). The book should be in there.

Yeah. you're talking about the same chest. It should be there.. You say it isn't.. You have to spawn the item..

This quest might be bugged. I never got it, but after doing a couple of quests for different mage guilds Edwinna told me to "put this book back where you borrowed it". Great ma'am... now, do you remember where i took it?

Can you tell me exactly how I do this? In the game? What do I click on to add this item?

Lady Avalon, you should go back and talk to Edwinna. As Fibulzbuth says, I never got the quest, but when I returned to her with another book quest, she told me to return the Chimarvamidium book and gave me a copy. Fearing adverse reactions if the book wasn't returned, I then returned it to that lady in the Vivec mages guild who has the book as a choice in our conversation. She isn't mad that I stole it(even though I didn't) or anything. She just says, "How did you...er..that is, would you be willing to give me that book, I've been looking for one just like it for some time." If you give it to her and talk to her about it again, she says:"Please don't mention this to any of the other mages, some of them get so jealous about certain things..." or something like that anyway...

I only say this because I have/will never spawned/spawn anything in any game...If you're just going to cheat, why even play the game? Anyone can beat a game if they go in and change the rules and make it easier for themselves. Of course, if there's no other way because of a bug, I'd probably go ahead and do it, but luckily that's never happened to me.

You're right, I don't like cheating either, adding items to a game or whatever. I only added the book because it just wasn't there and I wanted to complete the quest. I certainly didn't consider it cheating as there was a "bug" in my game in that it wasn't in the chest and I also went all over, spent many hours, searching several libraries and still no luck.

I didn't mean for that to sound so self-righteous and accusatory. I was speaking more TO myself, not OF everyone else. I should have said, I figure if I'M going to cheat, why should I play the game. Fun for many people I know is seeing who can "cheat" a game and get the best stuff/score/levels/etc. and THAT is their game so I guess "cheating" itself is a relative term,eh? Taking foot out of mouth and shutting up now.
