I've been trying to mess around with the editor, but at some point I want to try some graphics out I always get an application error saying "AnimationDlgProc needs an IParam pointing to a LinkList of TES3AnimGroups Continue running executable?"

I have tried running it with the construction set CD in the drive and with the game CD instead and still get the same error. I also checked preferences and checked in a box saying to check in the CD or something like that for data files (since I assumed the purpose of the editor CD is to serve as the data resource for it). Anyone had this happen to them? Found a fix?

are you running any plugins?

possibly it happens when you play your game, with plugins added, then when the Editor searches for something the game references in a plugin, it won't see it.

i have had it happen and have been able to successfully bypass it. are you saying that you can't do anything beyond that point when that error comes up?

PS: Morrowind Chronicles has a nice set of forums for CS users. it's still slim, but there are active forumeers (not to mention moderators) who actively use the CS.

Ahh thanks for the link!

I'm not using any plugins at all though. I really want to get it to work to REALLY start playing since I wanted to make use of the editor to come up with my race and fine tune a few things to play a character I created a long time ago for a pen and paper RPG that was basically a big mix of D&D and Champions and a little White Wolf thrown into the rules. It was fun hehe.

I hear you Silver.
I can't even load the .esm.
Some sound files are corrupt/don't work properly, i guet the "can't load that.../ check warnings.txt/continue-abort" window.
If i click continue (a dozen times), it randomly loads 3-20 objects but nothing else. One prison cell door, a katana... One time i got all the soul gems. Woohoo, was i lucky!

I'll try to reinstall the game. I never saw the new game movie or even the bethesda animation (i see a white screen, but i hear the sound)... might be related.
Might be related to the fact that i play MW on a pentium II 350 with a voodoo 5500 too. But apart from the movie sequences and the 6-12 fps (800x600 w. near but not nearest sight), the game runs OK.

oh gee, i am SO sorry, flib.

unfortunately, you're below spec for running the game. between the cpu and the voodoo, there's not much to do, but try to find the best, DX8.1 drivers you can and run everything at the lowest settings.

are you able to even run 32bit with the voodoo?

i'm surprised that you can run the game. but i can see how the Editor would totally freak out over your system. it needs to be able to work efficiently, and even if you could get those textures and items out to work on, i think your render times would be phenomenal (translate to loooooong wait times between each action).

My steam-powered machine is blessed by the gods... Long live Taiwan! From what i read on the forums, i don't have as much problem playing the game than a lot people with good CPUs. 32 bit textures?!? No way i can get what i see on screenshots! The voodoo 5500 is supposed to handle 32 bit, but from my experience it handles 32 bit by converting it to 16 bit. The texture detail i get is about that of Deus Ex. Load times (except for the master file) is surprisingly short, 2-3 second in and out, with some 2-5 second pauses every 5 minutes.

But the editor is a completely different story. 2 hours just trying to load the master file and no success. All the sound files the editor can't load seem to be there so it must be my hardware... but as long as i'm not 100% sure of it, i'll try. There should be a way to make it run (very) slowly but (somewhat) smoothly.

Flib,

My roomate is running a Duron with a Voodoo3, and the same issue happened to him. About the CS and the no animation (white screen while there should be animation). So I am pretty sure it's a video issue. We can not find a 3Dfx driver suitable for him, so I went ahead and got a GeForce3 for him for his b-day coming up.

Anyway, he is also running Windows 2000 Server though, I am about to go in his machine and take down some of the services running on the background.

I will let you know if the vcard change and tweaking the services does anything.

Himura, if it works with a Gforce 3, tell me plz. Send a private message if possible so i don't miss it. When will you install the card (ie. when's your friend birthday)?

It's because i took a 3 year waranty on my voodoo 5500. So a few seconds of microwave and i get a new card (3dfx being discontinued).
