well not really. In some of the different "games" (cant think of a better word ) you might need to know a certain ruleset e.g. 3rd edition D&D or 2nd etc. Just look through some of the posts and see what you think!!

also many of the games state wheterh they are "open" or "closed", ie whetehr tehy're accepting new players or not, if a game doesn't say, read a few page or two to try and get a feel for the game, then either ask if you can join directly in the game, or PM the GM (person in charge of the game). I have room in my werewolf game if you're interested in that, as I said read some of the posts and let us know.

Hi! Welcome to the fun side of Ironworks. I have questions for you, and would like to know more about your gaming abilities. First, let me fill you in on the types of games here. You tell me which you like more.

1. Strict RP, Game Master calls all shots and sets up world. Players respond to events, and are led by the DM through the world.

2. Writing intensive. Players are given a general idea of world and are kept within boundries by DM...but are free to interact and move about in an open-ended world with endless possibilities only limited by one's imagination. Monster enconters are directed by DM, but otherwise conversation between players is the meat of this game, and the decisions they choose as a team. Sort of like writing a novel, but with help.

3. Insta-scrap. A room or otherwise small area is designated to be a battle-ground between two or more players. Can be managed by DM or not. Fighting intensive, winner takes all and loser gets the hell out.

I am in two games now, one of which I am the DM and player, that are both #2 style. It's what I like. If you would like to be in it, I might be able to arrange something...

Now...do you like playing the good guy or the bad guy? I may have an opening for both, if you are interested...and dedicated. If not, no problem. A game will pop up soon enough that you can get into from the beginning. Let me know.

Also...what style of gaming do you like? Strictly D&D? What version? Can you play in a world that is not associated with D&D rules?

Great. Then if I were to allow you into my game...

1. What type of character would you try to bring in? Good ? Evil ? Neutral ?

2. What would this character's biography be ?

3. What are his/her strengths and weaknesses ?

You have a very interesting character! I have never seen one like it before, whose primary thing was sea-life. Unfortunately, we are deep underground right now and your character may be too traumatized to live through the awful experience of living underground for any length of time. Our plan is to get out of this hole and get back to our primary concern above ground. It would take a long post for me to explain all the details.

I tell you what. How good are you at managing your own game? If you were to set a story up, have a clear goal in mind for your players to achieve, and you take active part as a player as well...I would join your game and hope that others would too. I would like to try on some sea legs and find out how well I can fare on the open waters. If you are interested...let me know, or start the thread yourself. You can make one sign-up thread and one actual game thread if you like. Let me know if I can be of any help.

If you would rather be a part of a game...you will have to decide if your character can maintain his sanity while away from the sea, and then explain why he is adventuring on dry ground.

What do you think?
