Welcome to the SSSB castle earnt by stealth and striking from shadows this castle is the main meeting place (and hiding place) of members of the SSSB.

Halls lead through the castle, into the art galleries (mainly stolen), the treasury (mainly stolen) and various guest rooms and libraries filled with, you guessed it, mainly stolen valuables.

Shadow leans back in his throne in the main room and awaits the new members of the guild. In one hand he holds a golden goblet, filled to the brim with the finest wine available and in the other hand he holds his dagger, always at the ready.

OOC - This is the general Roleplay thread for the SSSB. This is where members can converse when there is no clan adventure. Also be sure to disable your signiture when posting here.

Elias quietly walks among the castle, looking at the various stolen goods in the castle, occasionally rubbing his unshaved beard hidden underneath his grey-black cloak. The only weapon visable is a small sword strapped to him belt.

After strolling about the castle he goes to the bar (if there is a bar) and orders a drink and waits to see if any company joins him.

A silent shadow slides into the castle unnoticed, his deep blue cloak keeping him from the eyes of those that might be around him. "Even among those who might be called friends, it is better to err on the side of caution," he thinks. "I will judge the others when I meet them. They will have to earn my trust like everyone else."

The shadow glides through the halls of the guild sliently, passing through without a sound. "What a gaudy and overdone place," he thinks scornfully. "Since when is a castle the suitable place for thieves? I doubt if even the bards would feel comfortable in this place."

The silent shadow moves through the place quickly, uninterested in the royal baubles of the place. He shakes his head, disgust beginning to get the best of him. Finally, he reaches the throne room and enters. He sneers as he sees the head of the guild lounging on a throne. "So this is the fool who thinks he is a king," he comments to himself. "We shall see if he is fit to lead."

The shadow unveils himself in the presence of the head of his guild. He is a tall man, but his form his hidden among the folds of his deep blue cloak. The hood is pulled up, keeping his face obscured. The only thing visible other than cloak on the figure is a pair of black boots. "Greetings, Shadow. I am the Swashbuckler Starshadow. Tell me where my quarters are so I can settle."

Shadow looks at Starshadow, "Welcome to the castle, your room in in the hall just down the the art gallery."

Shadow then stands and strolls over to the bar and greets Elias, "Welcome friend. Help yourself to any of the drinks, they are all free. You will have paid for them by the time your are finished here in other ways."

Starshadow nods silently to Shadow and heads off in search of his room. He passes through the art gallery, pausing to look at the paintings. "This may be worth a look later. But first, I must see to my quarters."

He finds the room easily enough, as the door has a gold plate with his name on it. "Hmm... This is a nice touch." He opens the door and peers inside. "Yes, this will do," he thinks as he begins to smile.

He enters the spacious room, taking in the sight as he plans his setup. A large window fills the far end, a bed stands to the left, and a large dressing area fills the right. It was a finely carpeted room, a light gray color, with some colorful rugs spread over it. "These rugs will have to go," he says aloud to himself. "The blue ones can stay, but the others will have to go." Blue was the only color that pleased him, after all. "The curtains too. I'll have to find some nice blue ones to put up. And repaint these walls as well." He shakes his head as he thought of all the work he had ahead of him already.

He continues to move around the room, stopping to have a seat on the bed. "The firmness isn't bad at all. I think it will be fit for me to sleep on." He looks at the walls again, this time taking in the paintings. "These will have to go as well, I fear." He ponders this for a moment. "Well, maybe one or two will stay. I'll have to see how the redecorating goes first." He glances around the room again. "And it looks like I'll have to acquire a weapon rack as well." He sighs and begins the plotting of his redecoration.

ooc- yay, ironworks is up again! *thanx cyril profusely for notifying her*

ic- A slender, delicately built creature tiptoed into the cellar, shaking rain off of its cloak. Turning and hurriedly closing the door against the freak storm, probably caused by some wizard's spell, it leaned against the closed door with a sigh. Pushing back the hood of the cloak, whose colours shifted and blended in with its surroudings, a young female half-elf looked around with blue-violet eyes, filled with curiousity and mischief. Brushing a few stray raindrops from her light chestnut brown bangs and thigh-length braid, she glided silently from the room, giving furtive glances over her shoulders.

Many hours (Perhaps even days) later...

Skye stretched and gave a big yawn as she strode casually down the middle of the plush carpeted hallway. "Gyaa, this place is so big! It'll take me months just to find my room!"

Since she was a new member to the guild, when she had found the castle of the SSSB Skye was afraid that the front entrance would, of course, have multiple traps in order to protect the guild from other thief guilds. Not in the mood to have to deal with traps, she had taken a back entrance, and in doing so, became helplessly lost... as usual.

While wandering around aimlessly, she looked at some of the gaudy, rich items decorating the halls in awe. Either the obviously stolen items were taken by someone with great skill, or the previous owner had been a rich fool. Most likely a combination of the two. In her admiration, she almost overlooked the intricately wrought door. The door, composed of some hard variation of sweet smelling cedar, had a silver plaque on it with her name beautifully scrawled across its surface, and a small dragon with amythest eyes embossed into the bottom right hand corner. The carvings upon the door were obviously of elven workmanship, and looked almost alive. She touched a small faerie's wing, as if to reassure herself that the small sprite wasnt going to fly away.

Issuing a small sigh, she drew herself up and reached determinedly for the door handle, shaped like a dragon's head. *CLK.* She stared at the handle in shock. Looking more carefully, she saw a keyshaped hole where the dragon's eye should be. "I have to find a key in this castle, when I could barely find my room?" she said, aghast. She slumped over a little. "Well, I guess this means I actually have to find the guild leader before I see my room." She grinned. "Quite an adventure... and I haven't even done anything yet!"

Shadow's head jerks up as he hears the magical alarm go off from one of the back entrances. "I hope its not that bloody Duke Alroan again, bloody whinging idiot."

He leaves the bar and strolls through the dining room and the kitchen, waving away the servants. When he finally does arrive at the cellar entry he sees that there is no-one there.

After resetting the alarm he strolls along the halls, admiring the fine tapestries of dragons and various other beasts. He finally arrives to a blank spot in the wall between the tapestries of a black dragon and a gryphon. He checks the hall around him and then presses a stone above his head.

When he realises that nothing has happened he tries a different stone and then another. After getting rather agitated he kicks the wall and he hears a click. "Oh yeah thats the one."

He whsipers the words to disable all the traps and enters his room. Looking around he places the keys to the doors in the castle on the desk and sits down. He spreads out several maps, one to the castle he is in, one to Baron Graphons house and one with the surrounding areas of both. He leaves the door open just incase he is needed.

The process of making a room feel like home is a long and difficult process, especially for one as fickle as Starshadow. He believed that if he was going to be staying somewhere, he might as well make it as comfortable as possible. And with this looking to be his headquarters for a while, it was even more important.

The elf worked diligently on his new home, ignoring everything else. Once he had found a project, he stayed focused on it, and he would not be sidetracked by anything. If anyone strayed near his quarters, they would hear lots of banging and moving and plenty of cursing, sounds more familiar in the labortory of a gnome. Things began to pile up outside his door, things that he did not want in his room, or things he did not have room for. Paintings, rugs, and various other articles littered the floor in front of his room, making the hall a dangerous passage.

The elf finally took a break from his work after a few days of moving things around. He hadn't noticed anyone wandering around the hall near him and he wondered if there were other rooms near his. "Seems like a good time to wander around the place," he thought. "Maybe there's some things around here that I need. I'd rather not make a trip outside right now." He had heard the rain coming down and was not in the mood to get wet, especially since his fireplace wasn't functioning yet.

With a quick check on the lock on his door (which he had replaced with one of his own, a devious one if he could say so himself; the previous one had been picked fairly easily and he did not want his room so loosely guarded), he started off. His cloak wrapped around him, but did not hide him in the shadows. The hood remained up as always, keeping his face hidden. "Let's see if there's anyone around. And perhaps find a few essentials for the room."

ooc: Just a note in case anyone doesn't know: Shadowhound has put together a forum for the clan. The link is in the recruitment thread.

The Dwarf looks up only to see a dark figure hovering over him. The figure had a jet black cloak and a ferret perched on his shoulder.

"Are you planning to clean that up Dwarf?" Thalali asked in a threatening tone.
The ferret prepared to pounce on the Dwarf. "Attack Felix." Thalali said calmly and the ferret pounced and landed right on the dwarf's face scraching and biting and causing general chaos.

The dwarf started to bleed as his eyes were being gouged out. "Enough Felix." The ferret stopped imediately and hopped back to his perch. "I suggest you run dwarf."

The dwarf looked like he was going to cry as he waddled off.

"Now its time to go find my room in this castle." Thalali said softly to Felix.

Starshadow continued his wanderings, appearing to be oblivious to anything that was going on around him. However, contrary to his appearance, he was very alert, listening for any noise, watching for any hidden movement. It was his natural suspiciousness that led to this behavior, which he always slipped into unconsciously as he moved.

The elf made a quick stop at the treasury, but nothing in it captured his interest. Instead, he found himself in one of the large libraries, looking through some of the more interesting books. Without thinking, he slipped them into his cloak; it was just something he did when he found something that interested him. They would find a home in the bookcase he had brought into his room.

He wandered on until he happened upon the room where Shadow was studying maps. "Ah! That's what I'm missing! I will have to acquire some maps when I venture out into the city again."

He knocked on the door to alert Shadow to his presence. "Do you mind if I look a few of these maps?" he asked.

ooc: Okay, just a quick question here. Where is everyone's rooms in relation to mine? I am just down the hall from the main art gallery.
