You add a debug mode in to bg2(forgot specifics though) then you press control space and type in various commands to ad items, gold, or xp and for creatures you have to know their console name e.g. artemis entreri is "artemis" then you put your mouse over them and press control-q and they will be added to your party though they dont have biographys or portraits some have sound sets and its cool to check their stats out. I had no idea the black dragon was THAT strong.

I just remembered how to do the debug. Open your baldur.ini file look for the program options heading then somewhere underneath it type Debug Mode=1. I think this very site has the codes for monster spawning but they dont have all of them. Still looking for the ettin code myself.

Infinity Explorer should give you a list of the creature/NPC codes. You need to have your Debug Mode activated as said above.

A few pointers about Ctrl-Q. I played with an Anti-Paladin as one of my NPC's through most of the game.

Can Do:
- resurrect the NPC
- send them into deadly situations without fear of them turning on you
- equip them with whatever you desire
- level up the Ctrl-Q character

Can't Do:
harm the NPC with any of your party members (this includes, but is not limited to the following: a party member who is dire charmed and area of effect spells)

Hope this helps. Ctrl-Q can make for a very interesting game. Enjoy.

Unfortunately several characters have annoying trates, probably to stop you using them.

When I CTL-Q'd Irenicus he stopped every 5 seconds to say something, within a minute I gave up because it got soooo annoying.

You can use IE as said above. If u can't be bothered to download it, u can always use Bifftool FE which is much smaller to extract the Creature.bif file which has all the .CRE files. The code u type is CluaConsole:CreatCreature(".CRE filename")

A few nice ones are Icbone01 (bone golem)
Behold01 (beholder)
Lich01 (Lich)
Hllich (Elemental Lich)
