I'm supposed to go to the graveyard district and fight the vampires, for the third quest, but I still having trouble beating the vampires that I meet at night in town. I need some good vampire killing weapons and a something to protect against level drain. Any help or SPOILERS will be appreciatted.

for a quick easy kill, cast protection from undead on yourself for a fashioned stylish kill get mace of disruption (which protect your fighter from level drain) upgrade it to +2 (more power) put on the best shield you can have at chapter 2 (hmm... shield of harmony is nice) full plate armor, an oil of speed, baldriun helm, go wack them. vampires are so easy if they cannot level drain you. |

Also, if you have an Undead Hunter in your party (paladin kit), he/she will help greatly....also, I think Minsc's racial enemy is vampire, this gives Minsc bonus to hit and damage vampires.

SPOILER . . . . . . . . . Well, i think the best weapon to enter the lair is DAYSTAR, a Long Sword you can find at the city gates. Small drawback... it is guarded by a little... insignificant... somewhat grumpy... Lich. You have to visit the tavern at the city gates and serch around the wall opposite the entrance for a while. A secret door will appear and after unlocking it, it will lead you to a hidden crypt. Before entering the crypt, make sure your thief is good at lockpiking(maybe drink a potion of Masterthievery). Let the thief and a Mage enter the crypt and PAUSE. Before the lich can speak, hit him with some magic missiles and send your thief to pick the lock on the chest next to the lich. inside you will find the daystar, now GET OUT. If you want to fight the lich, pause in th inn and identify the blade, or if you don`t, run for it to another city section. The Daystar has a powerfull ability, it can call down a Sunray on its wielder, and especialy Vampires get a nice charcoal tan from it. Have fun. Also there is a Vampire-kuilling Mace hidden in a tub full of blood in the north room of the Vampires lair. TSO |

Urm...
Do you have any idea that the Lich sometimes chases you out? He killed the whole inn worth of patrons. Anyway, the Daystar is good. In fact, it's so good, you should use it against that Lich. ------------------ A Drawn Sword; A Trickle Of Blood; The Tempest Is Brewing. Nemesis.... |

FYI about the Amulet of Power (which provides negative plane protection): if I recall correctly, it *cannot* be worn by any fighter class. I had my cleric wear it instead (great for walking about, turning undead without worrying about level drain).

Yes, fighters and thiefs cannot wear it, but fighter/mage and thief/mage (also fighter/thief/mage) can wear it.
