"I received an email this morning that Dave G's BG2: Throne of Bhaal end MOD, Ascension, has been released. Here's a quick overview of what it does:

* Possibility to recruit Balthazar to the cause
* Totally redone end battle. Use tactics not cheese.
* AI from the Yahoo group IEEAIS, see what mages can really do.
* Meet some old foes.
* Evil parties get a possible recruit.
* Lots of new dialogue
* Extended NPC epilogues, as well as some new ones for new NPCs and NPCs whose alignment can change.
* New abilities, no panzy Mass Heal rubbish.
* Slayer upgrades, improves with experience.
* See the story of Sarevok and Imoen play out, rather than left to random banter chance."

I was wondering the same things so I just clicked the link, it's not that difficult [img]tongue.gif[/img]

A MOD is an unofficial addition to the game which usually includes new NPCs, new items, new quests etc.

Check out www.teambg.com for BG1 and BG2 expansions.

Actually, Melusine, I did, and I've downloaded it, but I'm afraid (yes, afraid) to open it. I'm wary of that "No mass heal cheese" part' I mean that's one of my favorite things to do in those (very bloody) battles with the demons, etc.What's cheesy about it?I do like the idea of extended NPC epilogues, but I'm afraid I'm not gonna hear the story of Sarevok and Imoen, for the simple reason that he's not EVER going to be in one of my parties. After all, he DID kill Gorion, and I'm a Paladin.

Mmh, do you need to download the patch as well?(don't worry, only 15KB) And will it be a prob that i already installed the Bhaalpowers patch?

This sounds like a really cool mod, and many thanks to Dave Gaider who went out of his way to do this in his spare time. [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img]

Just to make people aware though that this mod, having new dialogue, will overwrite your dialog.tlk file so if you have custom items with custom descriptions they will be overwritten. Backup your original dialog.tlk file so you still have access to those.

? Will it conflict with any of the Balderdash patches? I ask this because I am heavily patched with stuff from Balderdash.
