for those of you who have the wiz8 editor...
have you ever thought about running a party of characters whom you've edited to be umpani or trang or rapax or trynnie ???
ive noticed that the android race always crashed when i put a guy on it, so i haven't used that one but, i have been toying with the idea of making a rapax mage with the mageblade or some other chars to play though with...
ive also created parties with guys such as rodan lewarx, shritis trang, dame keli, among others...

What kind of starting stats do you get for Rapax, Trang and Umpani?

hmm, interesting. any advantages other than being able to use race specific items (the only thing I can think of is rapax mageblade and maybe rapax armor)?

if you click on the race in the level-up screen (when you have a level to gain), the starting stats show as ??,??,??, etc (at least for Umpani)

You can edit your RPC's. Their race is what determines where they'll go.

speaking of races, have you noticed how Vi and Myles aren't Higardi, but Human?

If you change an RPC to android, does he get mental immunity and 0 spells or does the game crash?

creating an android seems to make the game crash every time...
even if all spells are disabled, i dont know what it is

as for starting stats i just kinda guessed...
i thought it would be fun to have an umpani with a blunderbuss =)

Editor is available from http://www.geocities.com/grieversnr/

The 'item' editor will seem to be allowing you to change races, but that only works for player races. The RPC race changing doesn't seem to work, though i dunno, because i haven't tried to edit any RPCs (I don't use them)

It was kinda fun to see what it would be like to have stuff like a second Boomerang Shurikan, or a Powerglove; or maybe start the game with a high-level Bishop, etc. I haven't counted any games i modified as finished, though.

The no-item editor is fine if you want to stipulate training, eg. you've done Stealth training the "hard" way so many times, you just take it as given, and move on.

Thanks Scatter, I'll check it out. Is it pretty straight forward?
AND.. being open minded, I'm now running a party of 3 Bards and a priest. I don't think they'll be as good as 3 Gadg. but, I'm open minded!
Can anyone direct me to a site that has a list of Instrument locals? thanks

Go here for one of the best Wiz8 sites around. Check the Item Index then Instrument locations.

www.flamestryke.com/wizardry8/flamestrykes_w8.html

Site also has a few Might and Magic pages.
