Does anybody else get the impression that this game is out to get them?

My current party doesn't use mace/flails, for reasons I won't go into, but I'm starting to wish they did. I got an ordinary hammer right at the beginning of the game (lower monastery); excellent for a lord or dual weapons fighter, but this time I had neither. But the thing that really bugs me is that I just got 3 (yes 3!) vampire bat wings when I ran into some vamp bats in Trynton! The wings are absolutely useless to me this game, unless I start mace+flail skill from scratch with one of my characters. Every game I have played, I've had to fight literally hundreds of the little blighters just to get 1 wing (sometimes reloading, sometimes spelunking). Arrrghhhh!!! I swear, this game is messing with me on purpose.

I feel your pain. Right, rant coming up:-

1. getting multiple Mercurio Blades, Ariel Slippers etc when I don't have any Bards;

2. when I have a gadgeteer, the light xbow concession on Dominus have ceased production for some reason;

3. got 2 Sprite's Daggers in one game, needless to say no Faeries in the party.

Right, rant over!

(Edit: typos)

I hear you. I landed a Muaramasa blade last game, and it was the first game in a while that I hadn't used a samurai. Of course, the previous 2 times I had Sam's, but no Muaramasa blade dropped.

This is actually a feature of many games. In Diablo2, my Amazon was always coming across Good Stuff for a Paladin, and the Necromancer kept turning up goodies for a Barbarian, and so on.

Of course, we are experiencing here a world-wide conspiracy by game designers to add frustration to the games. It's an undocumented feature

Now that I have the three Artifacts, and am headed up to place them, I've been jumped by dozens of plumed serpents, all dropping feathers all over the place (a little late, eh?)

Once we get to the Cosmic Forge, we should be allowed to put our 'cool' stuff in Arnika and let a new party start (to find our 'cool' stuff and get to use it) again.

Otherwise what's the fun of 'being a Cosmic Lord' ?!

Now I know the game is playing with me.

Got a Siege Arbalest in that safe in the Trynton Pagoda, my party is 4 Monks, Mook Ninja and Bishop.

The Ninja has zero in Bow. He's using feather darts, throwing knives etc but hasn't scored any instant kills. I was going to give him a doubleshot sling or a Wrist Rocket.

Siege Arbalest is such an awesome weapon I don't want to sell it but use it somehow. Party is level 12ish.

What would you do? Thanks.

Krull, with 4 monks I would have thought you'd be used to finding cool weapons you can't use.

I say go for the arbalest with the ninja, otherwise who will use the great quarrel ammo available later in the game. Since you have 4 monks, I'd imagine you'd have enough throwing/sling skill users in your party, so you won't miss one.

UNLESS... your ninja is your only thrower. Then it may not be worth it. Your party sounds very melee orientated, so powerful long-range weaponry may be unnecessary.

Bottom Line - If you intend to ever kill large things from far away, start using the arbalest, if not, you won't miss much by not usng it.

Yes, I hear you. Just thought I would try a low maintenance party. Worked very well so far and, yes, I've given the Ninja the Siege Arbalest.

Snag is, I've been putting points into Staff for the SoD so may have to rethink this.

I was lucky enough to get the Bushido Blade at the first attempt so may switch him to Sword and give the SoD to the Bishop (the Monks are all doing very well with MA and using their Wrist Rockets).

The way the game plays, what's the betting I pick up a Philosophers Shield now?

What a great game.

(Edit: Just noticed I have a new icon, how many posts before I get the next one?)
