Hi there is an outlaw cave near Pelgiad. I went in and killed the boss who had full steel plate and lots of nice armour.
I can only carry 160, so instead of going back and forth, i used lots of potions and a spell called: Incredible Might or something My stength went up to 210 and I carried it all back to sell BUTTTTT when the spell disappears my stength is down to a permanent 2 can only carry 10! The strength in my profile is red coloured. How do I cure this curse??? Any cheat codes? I quick saved all the way ![]() Weisi

Use Restore Strength potions or a Restore Strength spell. If there's a red icon in the list of attributes (right-click, check the top of the bottom right box or in the main screen, the little icons in the bottom right corner) it will probably tell you what's wrong with you. You may have contracted a disease or have been cursed or something.

Restore STR: Scamp Skin + Gold Kanet or Stoneflower Petals
Fortify STR: Ash Yam + Dreugh Wax There is a bug in the logic of attribute boosting in Morrowind. If you are fortified then you will not be noticed that your attribute is drained. Only the lowered value of the (boosted) attribute and the icon among the "spell effects" will tell you that something is wrong. Moreover you cannot heal the attribute as lon as you are fortified. You have to wait until the boost elapses and your attribute becomes red. Only then you can heal. As you have seen, this can be critical if you are fortified really seriously. You can lose all your "base" value of your attribute and become literally helpless once the fortification passes. You are doomed to observing what will happen when the boost ends. You cannot do anything. And I am not sure whether you cannot be killed when your base value is sucked to zero. Therefore, be very careful with serious boosting of your attributes. You'd better avoid temporary boosts by means of potions and use constant effect magic items instead. You can always unequip them, heal, and reequip them. Even then you can solve problems with drained INT (not enough spell points). I recommend creating a custom Restore INT spell, which will cost only 1 spell point. Well, it will heal INT not too much but it will heal enough so that you will be able to cast stronger spells. Also, create a custom Restore All Other Attributes spell (Restrore Attr is a cheap spell so that you can afford it) and use it whenever you get drained.

heh, full plate steel armor probably wasnt worth steeling. a temple shrine can probably heal you or you can use potions or spells with restore strength to do the trick

There is an imperial cult shrine in the fort at Pelgiad. It will only cost a couple gold to put it back where it should be.
This is EXACTLY the sort of situation where 'Divine' or 'Almsvi' intervention is a lifesaver! With a carrying capacity of 10, though, you'll still have to drop everything in order to walk into the shrine [most interventions take you to a spot just outside the appropriate building] so that's gonna suck. Probably wise to leave a ring on, just so the folks round and about don't think you are 'naked' [why a ring counts for more than the brown fur diaper, I have no idea]. My guess is you were whacked by a couple bone walkers in that dungeon: their attack drains your str. something awful. One of the first Items I always enchant is a belt or ring that restores all the attributes: makes life easier. Oh, remember this: if you are wearing, say, the boots of blinding speed, and take an attack that drains your speed, your speed number will drop BUT it will remain highlighted in white since the attribute is still 'boosted' by enchantment. As with fortification spells, you must remove any enchanted items fortifying a specific attribute BEFORE that attribute can be restored. If you have 3 or 4 items fortifying a specific attirbute, it gets to be a real pain. It's also important to have a good idea of what the numbers 'should' be, so you can tell at a glance if you've been drained... Oru [ 05-28-2004, 04:08 PM: Message edited by: Oruboris ] |
