I understand that armourmelt decreases an enemy's AC? When I cast armourmelt I don't see any appreciable difference in damage done, eg steelhide croc in the swamp.
I should add that my party is level 14-15 with good stats in wepaonry and close combat etc. Am I missing something? Thanks. |

IMO Armormelt only increases the chance to hit and penetrate, not the damage done.

As Loudhy said. Try out the difference between fighting Nessi with and without armormelt. With armormelt you will hit much more often.

Ah, thanks. I'll have to read the manual more closely.

Armormelt is pretty subtle. I don't use it for the same reason, just for spell points. You barely know it's there, if at all. I'll try it with Nessie, maybe I'll finally see a difference in the percentage of hits (would most people notice getting 4 out of 6 hits as opposed to 3 out of 6 on average?)

Like everyone said, I've noticed that it increases your chance to hit, not the amount of damage you do. This helps a lot when your attack level stinks when your weapon skill is pretty low. Sadly, it doesn't help increase damage per hit, just compare the damage you do with Armormelt vs. without on something like an Adamantium Slime.

Use Super and Enchanted Blade to do more damage.

Ive noticed armourmelt CAN increase your odds of hitting, especially if your party is struggling.
Enchant blade (should allways be on) Armourmelt and bless in combat helps alot, and work for all critters (or all party memebers). Superman too if you really need to boost your tank. And a good thing about armourmelt is that it ALWAYS works, without fail, unlike 99% of other spells.
