It's only on PC though. Works like NWN's or Baldurs gate. Feats, points, real-time rounds etc.

it's sad that there aren't any capes or chest symbols, tho. nothing screams superhero like batman's cape and supe's humongous "S"!

Interesting concept, graphics are pretty dated though.

I'm not a fan of pay for play games myself, well I'll ammend that... I'm not a fan of pay for play games where the publisher expects you to pay up front in addition to the monthly charge. If the game is worth it people will pay their subscription rates... the up front "box charge" is just a way of hedging against the possibility that the game will suck and everyone will cancel their subscriptions after a month.

Well, Thoran... the sad truth is that they're not doing it for our enjoyment, they're doing it for our money of course they'll do anything to get to our wallets

I was intrigued by City of Heroes too at first, but somewhere along the line I lost interest.. I'm more into World of Warcraft now Can't wait until it's released, I'm moving to Azeroth.

Hehe... I don't have a problem giving them my money if the product is WORTH the money. The "pay for play" marketing format provides a unique opportunity for a company that has made a truly great game... they can give the game away for free or for very little (fixed cost) and make their money on subscriptions. IF the producer is confident in the quality of their product they stand to make much more than by charging regular price for the game (which will reduce the pool of users who give the game a try).

NOW, if the producer doesn't really care about the quality of the game and just want's to make a short term profit, he'll sacrifice the long term to get the quick buck from people who will buy the game, then quit after a month. IMO when a subscription based product carries a large up-front cost (and it's not fixed cost based) I immediately assume it's inferior quality... therefore I've never bought one of those games, and probably never will.
