The makers of Wizardry 8 were unable, unfortunately, to have their continuity editor present during the recording sessions. Consequently, many names are pronunced multiple ways in the game. The worst example is probably the Chaos Moliri, which apparently had its name changed after recording.

So, what do folks prefer?

ArnEEEka (Burz) or AARnicka (most others)
Vi as in eye (He'Li) or Vi as in wee (Braffit)
(there is disagreement on her last name, too, but I forget how)
Dominus as in ----bus, or Dominus as in ----noose.

What do you prefer, and can you think of any other similar gaffes?

Heh. Yeah, I noticed that a long time ago myself. Personally, I prefer Veye, since her full name is Veyetalia, as mentioned by Braffit, and later the short version given by He'Li. Burz, after all, is a Trynnie, and we know about their brains

However, I don't recall anyone offhand who says "noose" instead of "us" for the Dominus. I prefer "us" myself.

Many Spells are pronounced differently from voice to voice. (eg Nulli Secoondus and Nooli Secundus)

It isn't necessarily a mistake. For example, is potato pronounced po-tay-toe or po-tah-toe?

And just think what you get when you reverse the second and third letters of Braffit's name. I wonder if that was deliberate?
