Just got this game and it's expansions on the weekend. Damn it is pretty sweet. I've found that sniping is a lot of fun and so is flying choppers but that is very hard.

Anyone else play this game? Got any tips on staying alive?, taking out enemy tanks?, flying choppers?

I tried one of the single mission which involves sniping enemies from far but it was very difficult because once I took out a guy, the whole base was alerted and a truck full of soldiers came to investigate. I tried many times and gave up eventually.

According to my German friend, that was one of the hardest single mission ever and he encourage me to play the campaign missions first but I have packed the CD and sent it to my store room. Hopefully you fate will be better than mine.

Oh, I am not a "true" fan of 3D shooter but I have played a few interesting tiles:

1. Deus Ex: my favorite weapon is the 30.06 sniper rifle (added a silencer to it)

2. No One Lives Forever 1 & 2: Again, my favorite weapon is the sniper rifle and crossbow.

3. Delta Force III- LandWarrior: My favorite character is the sharpshooter, a.k.a sniper. Plenty of sniper rifles to choose from.

4. Red Faction - Nice collection of sniper rifles. I think there are two variant of these cool toys.

5. Return to Castle Wolfenstein - Three types of sniper rifles and plenty of chance to snipe enemies from afar. Didn't get to finish the game though.

6. Half-Life - one sniper rifle (expansion pack) and one crossbow but not many chance of surprising the enemy.

Those are the "interesting" titles I have played so far.

You should try the Medal of honor series. allied assault and Spearhead both have some levels of sniper action. And i expect the upcoming expansion will be no different.

I also had fun with Carnivores 2. You defenitely don't wanna go on a T-rex hunt with the wind in your back.

I have heard of Medal of honor series but I have never gave it a try. Perhaps I should check it out once I have finished playing Splinter Cell (PC). I just got it yesterday but I have not installed it yet.

To be honest, I have not tried any dinosaur shooter game. How old are these titles anyway?

I'm not exactly sure, i have three different ones. The first and oldest one is Carnivores 2. I have that game for at least two years now. The next in line was Carnivores ice age. Same type of action, except this time you're hunting animals like Sabreteeth, mammoths, and the ultimate challenge, the Yeti. I thought that one was a bit dissapointing. Then came Carnivores cityscapes, which has a storyline in it, and not just hunting for trophy. I never finished that one, because of a systemcrash, but maybe i'll reinstall it one of these days, and give it another go. It was a pretty good game.

I am never keen on hunting games because some of them requires preparation of baits, wind directions and stalking the beasts. On the contrary, hunting human/alien foe is kind of my game.

The best fun I had was Deus Ex because as I go along, I get the chance to improve my sniper rifles and also the skill to hold the gun steady. I hope Deus Ex 2 will provide similiar fun once it is released.

Sorry for hijaking your topic, Djinn Raffo. We seems to be waaaay out of topic here.

That's cool Paladin, threads are meant to be hijacked imo.

I also play Ghost Recon and the Rainbow Six games. Right now i am huge Raven Shield player, playing virtually every day of the week for at least a bit. Although it is more CQB battles than sniping, their are a few maps and mods where i'll take a rifle. I like the tactical shooters a bit more than the shoot em up ones but that's not to say i don't enjoy those ones to. Played MOH but only at my sisters pad, don't have it on my computer. It was quite fun though. I also played Return To Castle Wolfenstein and some Half-Life and Counter Strike, Deathmatch and all those HL Mods.. They are fun but a little to arcade like for me. Unreal 2003, i played and it was good as well, but just wasn't ambient enough for me. That's why i like Raven Shield so much.. it feels real.

I love OFP, if you could get paid for designing your own missions, I would never need a dayjob anymore. The campaign is sweet, better yet, there are tons of quality single missions available. It´s also a good idea to heavily mod your game... once you get bored, at least. Practice makes perfect.

Multiplaying (with people you know) is wonderful.. but not on GameSpy.
