In a few days I should -finally- have a PC powerful enough to Morrowind.

( The game itself I bought months ago, and it has been sitting on my shelf, taunting me ever since !! )

A few questions ....
When is the best time to add the Tribunal expansion? Right at the start? Sometime later? After Morrowind is finished?

Whats the best method of installation - Main game, patch, then Tribunal?

anytime you want. be it at start or after finishing morrowind main quest. install morrowind then tribunal. you don't need to install patch.

note : tribunal enemies are tough.

Tribunal adds a few neat features like the enemies' health bar as well as a general patch fix. You can venture into the Tribunal quest whenever you like but you should install it straight away.

here's something where not many people know. install tribunal and when you start the game. go to data files and uncheck tribunal.esm

in this way, the tribunal things won't be there in the game but it will still correct the game through the patch that tribunal have.

when you are ready for tribuanl things, go to data files and check the tribunal.esm.

Won't this thing mess with the journal functions of tribunal? you know, the reorganizing tribunal does...

Anyway, if you want to use tribunal, install it immediately: the tribunal game system adds some features to the journal which aren't present in Morrowind, and needs to reprocess your journal at the first run. The longer the journal, the longer the processing (it ca take as much as 20 mins!). So install the expansion right away and save this hassle.

no, besides, who reads those stupid journals? j/k

yes, it will take a long time. the thing is that many people complain that the tribunal enemy is too tough. so unchecking the tribunal esm will help them until they think they are strong enough.

Are you talking about the guys who visit you when you're trying to sleep (in Vvardenfell) or the enemies that are actually in Mournhold. Personally, I found the black clad visitors to be an easy kill and a good source of high quality light armour in the early stages of the game. The ones in Mournhold are tough, but the player doesn't have to go there until they choose to.

Its stated in the install guide that Tribunal starts the first time you rest. You will be awakened by a disturbance. A journal entry will record what happened and the fisrt tribunal quest,Dark Brotherhood Attacks, will begin. Talk to a guard to continue further in the quest. Based on your character's level, your sleep may be disturbed up to 9 times in a row. Investigate the attacks to explore more of Tribunal,or continue on your current adventures - its up to you. Tribunal will be waiting for you anytime.

I used the old journal all the time and wish I'd had the new one from the start. In order to use the new journal you must have Tribunal active.

If you are just starting Morrowind and already own Tribunal, Then if I were you I would load Tribunal contend with the attacks of the Dark Brotherhood, the ones that attack in Morrowind are not that tough and you can get good money from their supplies and armor. With your level being so low at the start of Morrowind I don't think you will have more than 4 or 5 attacks from dark brotherhood members then you will have all the benifits of Tribunal

When I bought Tribunal I had 24 saved games, 18 to 24 MODs added to Morrowind and it took 5 and 1/2 hours to load everything into Tribunals new Journal I thought I'd never be able to play but finally it stopped loading and that was only after deleteing 14 plus Game Saves, I still had 9 I couldn,t live without.

Now as far as starting Tribunal, Wait until your level 25 or higher! Of the nine save games I have my very first save is a 5th level fighter and he lasted almost 20 min before the Goblins Ripped me to shreads. It only took the first two I met about 30 seconds and 12 restore Health potions I couldn't even run away fast enough, I tried four times and then came back with my newest and most powerful save game character which was the same fighter at level 68 and this time I made minced onions out of the Goblin Army, the whole Army!!! YEA,I,B,BAD!

So load everything and play Morrowind, learn the game and get an idea of what you are doing and what you will be required to do. Get into the roll playing and let your character grow, strip some Dungeons and caves save some people and try to get a real feel for the game then go kick some High level butt in Tribunal when you know what your doing.

Well, charging head down in mournhold is a tough job for any char: the enemies are leveled on you:

you are level 5? your enemies are, say, level 6-10
you are level 50? your enemies are level 60.

You can defeat tribunal at any level, except the lowest ones: the equipment you have isn't good enough to counter that of your enemies. But equip well and it will do.
