Patch Help Needed - Unable to locate

Hey all.

Just bought the Game yesterday. Installed it. Crashes before I can get out of the first building. The little notepad thing wasn't much help. I am trying to find a patch for the game, but I can't seem to find a site that A) doesn't make me pay for it (cheap bastard that I am) or B) works.

A little help here might be good. I am going to try a reinstall, but I'll be back.

Install the latest video drivers, set your Morrowind screen resolution to the same as your desktop resolution, get the patch(I found it on Bethesda's Elder Scrolls homepage: www.morrowind.com )

make sure your display is set to 32bit color.
make sure there isnt any problem with minimum requirements.

Two things - the site is giving me an error message, and how do you install the latest video drivers? **nothing like showing your lack of tech knowledge, eh?**

Search for the homepage of whoever's made your videocard, they should have the latest drivers.

And that site doesn't USUALLY give an error for me. Try checking out www.rpgplanet.com 's Morrowind section. They might have it. Or do a search on www.fileplanet.com even though they suck, they seem to have most files and such.

Thanks, Slackerboy. Found the driver, installed it. The game doesn't crash now...it's just slow and jerky...but hey, better than nothing...any advise on how to make it not freeze up for 30 seconds?

What operating system are you using Black Knight? if it is windows (most likely) then you need to ensure youve defragmented before play. to some people this may seem obvios but i dont know how much technical knoledge you have. also, cut down on running programs in the background to improve performance. if your using win 98 then use the run dialoge and type 'msconfig' without qoutes and press enter. you can then go to the startup section and stop so much stuff from starting.

also, could you post your computers specs so i can help more.
