Well I thought I was on my last party, but I have another one kicking around in my head. What do you all think of it, and what ideas for new parties do you have?
Female Mook Samurai - go for the Giant's Sword and endurance items; might spend a level early as a mage for a spell boost. Male Dwarf Priest->Fighter - just get him to where he can cast level 5 spells and switch to fighter, go for mace/shield. Would be a tank of sorts as I am thinking of going for both ironwill and ironskin. Female Felpurr Bard - will go for max speed and have her cast haste all the time, might switch to rogue or fighter later on. Might dual wield daggers, maybe go with a staff. 2 Bishops, Elf and Rawulf - both will go for 3 realms instead of 4. Am thinking of mace/flail and shield for both as the shield skill can be sweet to protect a pure caster. I forget, is the cat o' nine tails a set item or random? Can see one with that and the other with the vamp chain. Want to make the elf a speed type. Last character I am undecided still - I had one old party with a Lizzie Valk that I really liked, might reincarnate her ![]() I also am going to try to get by with less so I won't pick up RPCs except for quests. The base formation would be the Priest/Fighter, Samurai and Bard in the center rank, and the 2 bishops and Valk in the rear.

That's kewl, my suggestion for those who "specialise" their Bishops:
Put enough points in Alc to total 15; from then on, just pay into the other schools. Then you can develop Alc just by mixing potions. I'm running my last import party now, i'm gonna start a scratch party of 3 next: Mook Samurai (just read a post re. Giant's Swd...): She'll be a Ninja for one level, though, to get stealthy. Fairy Ninja: Someday i'll run a party through without the Cane, but not this one. Hobbit Bish/Monk: Bish first, to get more magic right away & Charm up the Div, maybe 2 levels, then 5 Monk levels, more Bish (to 5 total Bish), then Monk all the way. |

I've done a samurai/ninja for a level to build stealth, works very well. That is one thing this new party will be missing is stealth, but I think if I have 2 bishops, a priest/fighter and valk, I should have plenty of protective magic, plus all 6 will be "visible" so the damage should be spread pretty equally. Plus usually it's the pure casters that you have to worry about in melee, so I also hope the shield skill helps the bishops (my current party has a faerie bishop who is really limited in armor choices).
Wonder if a Mook fighter would be better than a Sammy? Just concerned that the GS will drain sooo much stamina, and the fighter regenerates it (anyone know if that goes up with level?). Probably will start as Samurai and switch late in the game after I get the sword if I think it's a problem.

Well, i finally started a From Scratch party, i've played from imports for 12 finishes, and i wanted something new. (i don't have W7 anymore, so i only had a few variations--all with six chars, which makes ridiculous averages when you kill off 2 at L1 to play with four)
I wanted to play with a trio, dig: Elven Monk, Faerie Ninja, Hobbit Bishop (with 1 Rogue level). As i type this, they're in LM, learning Stealth from an obliging Languid Slime. I found a little magic spot, one or two enemies standing in the upper doorway of the central ramp room in LM can't hit you if you stand on the ramp (to the way to the beach) just far enough down that you can see the top half of them, they will shoot at you, but any shot that doesn't go over your head deflects off the floor in front of the enemies. I haven't tried this with Seekers, but Slimes and Spiders are 100% harmless here. Just have to watch out that no wandering close-attack mobs happen by while you're napping. |
