it's confirmed!

most chests in the game are set to *RESPAWN*. if you're curious, you can go into the Construction Set and check the containers. there's no way to tell just by looking ingame, the CS is, unfortunately, the only way to find which are good and which aren't.

peeps are reporting good armor and weapons being replaced by common shoes, common pants and rat meat (you know the garbage in most containers).

however, throwing your stuff on the ground is GOOD. so far, everything i have tossed next to the silt strider is still there, but my shack's box just respawned, taking all my confiscated moon sugar with it.

other good news, a few peeps are working on a persistent house for players, in Balmora. it will have non-respawning boxes, chests and crates. more on that as they fine tune it!

Be Careful Gamers. Protect Your Goods!

Hello V***V,

Off to Morrowind are we? How is the game? I'm assuming you're still the-buy-it-now, don't-wait-for-the-bugs-to-be-fixed, jump-right-in-with-both-feet young woman that you've been in the last year we've been bumping elbows (Arcanum, Wiz 8, Morrowind...) and bought it the first day out, if not a pre-payed, pre-release deal.

How did the Wiz8 Blonde Brigade turn out? Did they make it? I can't quite remember, but I thought they ascended...

Will be heading to Morrowind in a few minutes. I had been goofing around with Dungeon Seige, but the lack of role playing and choices is too Diabloesque. Haven't seen much of you on the Dungeon Siege board. Guess you're not playing.

Eventually I'm going to Mod DS, but I'll back off until there are some good RPG mods and all the tools have been relased.

Anyway, thanks for being here. Now I know this is a good game and I'll be able to get accurate advice and humorous quips.

~~it's my favorite dragon king~~

how GREAT to see you here!

::gives you a big hug::

and you're right on nearly all counts. i even sprang for the CE, cuz i just LOVE the art in MW and the Ordinator figurine was just too nice to pass up! its the tiniest little thing with the most excruciatingly beautiful details.

the BB was just skooshes away from ascending when windoze gave me a mad crash and decided to really throw me for a loop and when i reformatted, installed to my "D" drive (plz don't ask ) and wiped ALL my saves!

i had to lovingly lay them to rest but only until i get my fill of MW. (my 4 person team DID ascend, but gee, i really want the BB to make it there. the have a HUGE bone to pick with Old Dark 'n' Grumpy, yknow?)

anyway, it's official, Wizzie and MW look like they are both on my perennial fave list!

i did have to make several attempts in starting MW, but only because i wanted to get the feel of the game, so i would know how to tackle it. finally decided on a Dunmer Assassin and the way things happen to her, i can't decide if she's really smart or just plain lucky!! but i think she will be the most fun and prolly convert easily to a vampire later on. you KNOW i can't pass that one up.

i DID get DS and mm9, both. i have been playing them off and on. DS is a lotta fun, as you point out, in the old Diablo style. i had more fun tho, playing with one or two other peeps. it really shines in MP (except for the no-save dealie boohoo on that. anywayz its still on the list.

and might and magic 9 is a very mixed bag. i think i can best compare it to mm6. the storyline and depth remind me of 6 very much (i really love mm6) but it goes hand in hand with the NWC way of doing things. unpolished, with a bagful of terrible bugs and a shopping cart of unfinished plot devices, etc. so as a might & magic product, its a good one. just nervewracking as all get out at times.

::finally running out of breath and getting back to her original point::

draconis! i'm so glad you made your way over here! and you're starting up today! YAY!

::gives you another big hug::

have you even installed it or checked out the Construction Set yet? i don't know what your system is, but its totally geared for mid to high end systems, so get ready for some tweaking. even with all that, its so waaaay worth it.

::pauses to take another deep breath::

did i tell you how glad i am you're here?! LOL!

I may have to buy a new VIDEO CARD. I can get just to the point of being on the ship with Juib when it drops from full screen to the taskbar... A hard re-boot follows everytime. ::sigh::

Oh well, I've been waiting for the excuse, so none's to pity.

Forgot to ask if that was you in this new picture? Another photoshop rendition of the mighty vesselle?

Hi Vesselle

UPS guy due in 90 minutes.

Anyway; I 'THINK' I read you as saying that, IF I bought a house there is a possibility that the items left there would either change or disappear??

YOu're cracking me up...

Vesselle,

See you in Morrowind. My SOUND card is not DirectX8.1 compatible. I don't get lovely sound, but I'll be there...

ROFLMAOPIMP!!

~~barron~~

i guess its more like 60 minutes now, eh? i feel your pain, hon. believe me.
oh... a house that YOU make will be fine, cuz you can go into your chests and turn off "respawn" flags.
its just that i had a place i *ahem*"borrowed"*ahem* from some poor slob and, yes, i lost everything. all the evidence i have been gathering regarding a certain crime, etc.

you CAN use the Construction Set tho, to go into a place you decide on and turn all the respawn flags off.

or do what i'm doing currently, using the Silt Strider platforms as my storage. that way when i travel from town to town, i either jump off the buggy ride ::laffs at her dumb joke.. get it? bug-gy???:: or walk over to the platform if i walked to town.

it seems like in the ultima games, leaving junk/precious stuff lying around on the ground is cool.

~~oh my goodnes, draconis~~

yes! yes!! yes!!!
everyone i know has used this game as an excuse to go for a gef3 or gef4. whatever you do sweetie, don't get an MX anything. besides tom at tom's hardware slamming it hard, nearly every gamer who uses it with MW and comes onto the boards, has been severely disappointd.

the gef3ti200/500 all get high scores, not to mention the newest gef4tiXXX (lol! bad gamer girl! can't remember the newest geewhiz card number!!) but of course, the gef4 is still hyper-expensive.

i have the gef3ti and am really pleased with it. i have an ATI on my lapper, but its a 32mb. i'm gonna upgrade it to the 64 or just swap out for gef4go or whatever its called. as much as i like how ATI has improved, i'm just a tad underwhelmed when i see it right next to the gef3. ::sigh::

aw gee, barron, i guess its more like 45 minutes, now, huh??

V***V

like i have ANY right to complain when peeps still don't have the game yet.

PS: nope, not me! its a messed with photoshop pic, tho. she just happens to be some actress, playing a vampire *cough* slut *cough* in an 80's cheepie Vampire Movie!! LOL! so, see? perfecto for me! ... uhhh.... i mean, not that i'm a ... you know... i just meant that since its a vampire.... and uh ... i'm a girl... hmmm ... you know what?.... i guess i better stop while i'm ahead.... i hope i'm ahead ... ::rolls her eyes, blushing::
am i ahead?
