Hi All,
I just finished playing Wiz 8 through for the second time and that says a lot!! Knowing that I thought Wiz 8 was great, can anyone suggest what to play next?
Thanks,
Boca

Wait for Morrowind, or try MM 9. Be warned though, its nowhere near as good as Wizardry 8. You could also try Wizards and Warriors too, although again, its not nearly the caliber of W8.

But if you're into RPGs of the same style, you should like those ones all the same.

And of course, the best thing of all is to play all the old Wizardry adventures on an old DOS machine! Ahh.. the memories..

Now I'm off to celebrate having gotten both a light shield and a light sword off of those damn Bucaneer ghosts! Woohoo!

Wizardry 8 is probably the last of its kind. At least in the current gaming environment.

There have been only two series titles going for First Person Party-Based CRPG's. The Might and Magic line had a unique humorous attitude that resulted in very strong loyalty among its devotees, in spite of a steadily watered down series since MM-VI (some will say since MM-V). MM-IX is the last of its line, same as Wiz 8 ends Sir Tech's history here. It's not a complete waste, but it's very different, and the "Mouse Look" aspect makes it feel way too much like a FPS instead (First Person Shooter - you know, twitch & kill!)

Elder Scrolls differs a lot with its single character, but is still from a first person orientation. It's now due out in June.

I wasn't in favor of the interface for the BG games, and don't like the oblique view point much, either, although I really loved the old SSI AD&D stuff. The various Icewind Dale offshoots of BG were supposed to have some of the old Gold Box feel, but those hated my compter hardware too much! Anyway, IWD-II is on its way (July, maybe?) Maybe the third time around is the charm!
