And I was wondering if anyone knew how well this party will preform in the game.

Dwarf Lord
Dracon Samurai
Fearie Bard (gonna change her to a Ninja around level 15 I think)
Mook Ranger
Human Gadgeteer
Elf Bishop

Seems OK. Just that it's not a good idea to multi class at level 15. Wait at least you get level 18. Also a Feary isn't very good for a bard. The bard have the biggest carry load, all this instruments are super super heavy. Better change for a Human or Mook.

So in my aspect you should change your Bard race.

I took a Feaie becuase in Wizardry VI and VII there was this item called Cane of Curpos that only Fearies could use, and I'm guessing that it will be in this game also.

Actually, i'd make the Faerie a Bishop-Ninja, but rather than changing once late in the game, you can spend your first level as a ninja to develop stealth especially, but also other fighting skills. (Wiz-8 gives skill advances indepentently of level-up points, so you can actually let the chars practise some skills up to max in just one level). Then you can play Bishop to develop magic for 5 levels, back to Ninja long enough to get Alchemy as a ninja (4 more) then switch back and forth at will; the magic you cast as a Ninja helps build skills, and your fighting will also improve in either class if you use the Cane as Ninja and whatever other sticks you find as a Bishop. (Unlike W-7, changing class removes any cursed item your new class can't use)
And, there's nothing wrong with 2 or more Bishops, you can buy almost all L1-5 spells as books from merchants scattered about the game. I've even run a party of 4 Bishops that changed between that and Ranger, Monk, Ninja and Sam at various stages.

Alenkii, the Cane of Corpus is in this game as well, for a Faerie Ninja, but you come by that when you're around level 10-12, and it takes quite awhile to get up to 15... also, a bard who stops at level 15 cannot use all of the instruments in the game.

Also, class changing in this Wizardry is VERY different from previous Wiz games. Before, you went back to level 1 and you leveled back up quickly. In this game, you go to level 1 on your new class, but you're still the old level in your old class, so if you change after 10 levels, you're STILL a level 11 character, so you won't get to level 2 in your new class until you get enough experience to get to Level 12... My suggestion, NEVER multi-class... at least not until you've played the game through a few times.

My most successful (read easiest to kill everything) was (in this order), Faerie Ninja, Hobbit Samurai, Mook Ranger, Felpurr Gadgeteer, Dracon Bard, Elf Bishop.

You want your ninja first because if you decide to attack after moving, you go in order from 1-6. You could even put your bishop first and it doesn't matter since you determine your party's formation at any time.

I've gotten the Cane as "early" as L6. I just let one of my Bishops practise alchemy until she could make Canned Elementals, and everyone had practised their Artifacts skill (which you need to use stuff).

GenX's party suggestion is excellent, almost exactly the "best" party I've had as well, all the same classes (except I had a felpurr rogue instead of the ranger). But if it's your first party the Ranger is probably better for the auto search - rogues make really amazing melee characters in this game, and I developed mine in throwing so he was the designated powder/bomb guy which were his "spells".

I would think about either dualing the Faerie as a bishop/ninja or alchemist/ninja, or just go as a pure ninja and cast alot, that is what mine did and he's a very potent caster.

I found out that my monk was the best hybrid caster. The samurai wizardry takes enons to level enven by training. A ninja has alchemy so making potion will raise the skill very fast. Any way at level 22 you are sure to be able to cast level 7 spells with monk and ninja.

Yah, Monk & Ran or Nin are a great pair, i only like to add a few Bish levels mostly for the mana pool, even only 5 levels, to get all the spells up to L3, your mana pool increase is worth it. You get to be as good with the staff/wand skill if you go Monk & Nin, only with less ATT/Round (&without the Cane) while you're Bishops. I've been trying to find a balance between the mana pool and developing the fighting, the lowest i've gone permanently to Nin or Monk has been 11, and i think i'm gonna try 8 next time, just one School after L4 spells, it seems that'll be the lowest i'll want my mana pool, i'm a big caster...
You can have a Sam practise Enchanted Blade, Missile Shield, and Shadow Hound, also a REAL BIG increaser is to spend a few days at the 8-pin door bank vault casting Knock-Knock, you get points for it every time, not like the others, which you can only get increases once a day, so you can cast out your mana, rest, repeat. This works for the Alchemy school, too. Just exit the 'open lock' screen if you raise any pins, start up again. I stay at power L5, too, you could open the thing if you get (un)lucky...

I hate spending ours in front of my PC just to raise a skill. I don't have much time to play so doing this will simply mean I will play 2 games a year. No I prefer developping the skills in activity.

Potion making is lucrative as well if you need cash. But in Wiz8 gold isn't used much. I prefer MM games for that, evry service cost money
