I would normally say a Rawulf, Dwarf, or Human are the best for a priest, but I have to ask why a priest? A Bishop would fill the same niche and be a lot more useful at the price of a bit more patience.

Thanks--

I am planning to have a bishop too. I want to have a priest for healing and the bishop for offensive spells.

In that case, take two bishops instead of one. Split the spellcasting duties between them. You'll do better that way in the long run. Faerie and Elf are the best races for bishop.

If you still want just a priest, my favorite is the Rawulf.

I agree with Nightowl. I'd take 2 bishops - I usually do a mage/bishop (Faerie) and a priest/bishop (Rawulf/Dwarf/Human) and I dual both of them about level 7-8, but you can also just start them out as bishops. Bishops have a lot more spellcasting options, both offensive and defensive.

Better directly go for a Bishop. I found Priest not good spell casters and finish most of the time only casting buffing spells and healing. Bishops can on the other hand also do some massive mass attacks.

I'd suggest using a dwarven priest. Very good, priests.
