So my lvl 19 lord (100 str, working on 100 vit) has been keeping up skills in Sword and Mace.. unfortunately i've neglected his dual wield in favor of Magic skills (party theme... long story) So now i've got Fang, Diamond eyes, and excaliber... and i'm torn as to which i should use. I know not too many folks out there use lords much, but i was wondering if anyone had done research or had an opinion on what to use. I'm leaning towards Excal at this point, cause he's whomping for 70 dmg a swing, and hits pretty often. any input?

IMO, you should Dual Wield with your Lord... it's just because that's what he does. If you want to go with a 2 handed sword like Excalibur, you may as well class change to a Fighter and at least get the Berserk.

And that's why i built his skills towards that. But i'm finding that Ecalibur is superior in effects and dmg to the DE/fang combo. I do have a light sword (from the buccaneer ghosts), but that's on my Samurai. The dmg potential from excal it would seem is superior to dual wielding, and Hex is a nifty side effect, and you see it quite a bit. grr... so many good things in this game!

Have to agree with GenX. The Lord's special bonus is for dual wielding weapons. If you're not going to do that (and with Diamond Eyes, you should, it's the best offhand weapon), then switch to fighter and get the berserk bonus with Excalibur.

I haven't found the excali yet....dont know much about it, but Im assuming its a 2 hander. I actually gave my lord the bloodlust for the beserking and he uses diamond eyes in offhand. My fighter (always beserking) uses Fang and another diamond eyes.

My fighter is nice...hits alot with Fang....but I have to say, my Lord will swing alot every round. He usually will swing 2x then 3x at the beginning of the fight, then again at the end of the fight. I know that Bloodlust doesn't have that great of damage output...but the beserking ability for him just rules. He is about lvl 21 I think....has at least 75 in sword/mace, duel wield and short ranged. His Str/Vit are both 100, Speed/Dex is around 80

Hey ratchild,
Keep the Excaliber
TO hell with the dual weapon plus of the lord.
You said u wanted the spell ability of the lord right.
Im thinking he might be your main priest type guy.
I have a lord who is also my main healer.
He is also one of my semi tanks.
And he uses the Exaliber.
So my lord is a very valuable guy now.
Here is my party and the lords role.

Centre are my 2 main tanks.
Hum-Sam with lightsword and lightshield, zoitchi bo as alternate.
Liz-Fig with Ivory Blade and Diamond Eyes, Strong Bow as alternate.

Front flanks are my 2 semi tanks.
Raw-Lor with Excaliber, Vampire Chain as alternate.
Far-Nin with CoC and Winterwand.

Rear Flanks are my Range attackers.
RSF81 with Boomerang shuriken and Death stars, Staff of Doom.
Moo-Ran with Eagle Eye Bow, and Giants sword

In the Rear i have my spellcaster.
Far-Bis with Fire Staff, Wrist rocket.

As far as magic
Fig- No magic
Sam- He gets a letter grade of "C" in wizardry
Nin- Gets a grade of "B+" in alchemy
Lor- Letter "A" in Divine, (He was a priest for a while).
Ran- gets a low "C-" in alchemy
RSF81- No Magic
Bis- Gets an "A+" in wizardry, "B+" in Psionics, a "D" in divine, and a "C-" in alchemy. (He was a mage for a while, and has a few psionist levels too.)

Ummm.... in other words ratchild, your doing good.

hehe... agreed. My party theme was no pure spellcasters. goes like this

Hobbit Sam: light sword and E wakizashi, B in wizardry
Dwarf Lord: Excal, A in Divinity
Human Monk: fists, A Psionics
Human Ranger: Bows and polearms, B in Alch.
Hobbit Gadge: sword and dagger, dual wield, diamond epee and stiletto... lots of fun gadgets now.
Mook Bard: Mercucio's blade, though now that fang is spare i should give it to him, and shield. Lots of instruments.
It's working out very well, all are lvl 20-21 now, just about to enter Rapax rift.

Oh, and by the way, the Hybrid classes all started as their appropriate caster class, for a little headstart at their respective magic skills. I.E. lord started as priest, sam as mage
