My thanks to skywalker, Nightowl2 & Pyrates for your assistance with my reinstall problems. Turns out, as Nightowl2 pointed out, that more was left when I "uninstalled" the game. I was surprised to find almost the entire game still on the hard drive. After deleting all, I was able to reinstall the game with no problems so far detected.
Now, I do have one further question. If I start anew and patch with the lower version patch, can I later bring in my original cast and crew when I eventually add the latest patch? I really do not want to reinstall this game again.

Glad to hear that you finally got a clean install (also glad my suggestion worked out for you
![]() I've only ever patched with the Ascension Peak patch, but I know that the characters created in that game worked just fine in the reinstalled (no patch) version. Also, characters created before patching were fine, as well. I would guess that nothing is touched in the character files directory; changes are only made to game files when a patch is installed. However, if you're really nervous about it, you can always patch the game and create a brand new crew. |

quote: Indeed you can, I did it once when experimenting with PP ... and may players have said at various times they also did this ... for some reason going up from patch 2 to patch 4 after dealing with The Don is popular
