I love Rapax Rift!

How many times have I been complaining about insufficient number of monsters to kill...

Well, I was blessed to have visited Rapax's Rift. Each few step triggers a battle with loads and loads of Rapax Samurais, Berserkers, Priestesses, Warmages.

My party is getting tons and tons of EXP points I could not could the blessings! =)

Yeeeha!

Too bad. I was so carried away and had underestimated the power of 6 Samurais, 8+8 Berserkers. RFS81 died but the party regained control the next turn and wiped them out... it was a long hard fought encounter.

Next game, I'll send the party in here for levelups as well as for the money. Im getting good items here.

Speaking about big battles. The biggest I have had until now was on Tryton road. I bumped into 2 stacks of Juggernauts, 2 stacks of Seekers and 2 Stacks of plants. At the end of the battle I had pages of skill ups and more then 300K XP for each of my 6 chars.

I never had such a battle before, even sneaking arround at AP. But the way is blocked now and didn't clean out the Rapax castle so I cannot return to AP.

jsteng: Wait until you get to the castle the fights are even more fun. (great exp & lotsa stuff to sell if your hard up for money which you might get to be if you shop alot at ferro). Once you clear out the main floor of rapax castle just go down to the basement level and camp 6-10times in a row then come back for some more big battle fun.

Just got inside the castle..

I'd never seen so many opponents coming: "Our foe multiplies". And multiplies indeed. Im getting 7~8 groups each group 3~8. Good thing its a hallway fight. were I dont get outflanked.

For those who have spent a lot of time battling in the rift, I have a question concerning spellbooks.

My first time there it seemed that every other book the Rapax dropped was 'crush,' which led me to conclude (erroneously, I think) that Rapax could drop any spellbook up to level 4. In my latest game, I saved a lot of spell picks and rushed to the rift expecting to fill in my slots with the books that Rapax drop. All that I'm getting now is the book of screens over and over again (with a few 2nd level spells thrown in every now and then). Am I misremembering where I found all those crush books? I've set up a portal to the rift and head back every now and then to clean it out, but I haven't found a single crush book yet.

To put my question as simply as possible, what spellbooks is it possible to get from killing rapax in the rift?
