Hmmm, well just a suggestion, but you could try running the setup program directly from the CD, rather than letting it run the Autorun program where the fault appears to lie.

You could even try installing it in Safe Mode (ie. with minimal Windows drivers) - perhaps there's a conflict that's giving you grief. Hopefully, once it's installed you'll be able to run the game from the hard disk as normal.

Here's something to try: (I'm going to spell out every step completely, just in case there's a middle step somewhere that you may not be familiar with. Don't take it that I'm assuming you're stupid or something. Just trying to be helpful)

Restart your computer (or start it up like normal). Then, double-click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop. You'll see a list of your computer's main sections (floppy drive, cd-rom, hard drive, etc). Right-click on your hard drive (probably "C:") and choose the command "properties".

A window pops up with a few folder tabs across the top, choose the one called "tools". Run a "Check Now" (scandisk) on your hard drive and see if that pulls up any problems. Often you might have a small error that the scandisk fixes. If you're feeling ambitious (and have a LOT of time to kill) you can run the defragmenter, too, as it almost always speeds up a PC's performance and helps with random fragmented files that cause problems otherwise.

Okay, so if your computer checks out, here's how to install the game without the autorun part.

Hit the "Start" button at the bottom left of the windows screen (make sure all your other programs are closed), and choose the "run" command. It'll ask for a file name, but you can hit "browse". Look for your CD-ROM drive, and when you double-click it (you may have to go into "my computer" first) you should see a file called "Setup" or "Setup.exe".

Choose that file, and you should be off and running the installer just fine. If this doesn't work, let us know and I'm sure one of us will come up with some more suggestions.

Just making a comment about the second part of that post.

If you have Windows XP (and possibly ME/98) you can also do this.... Double click on the My Computer icon on the desktop, then right click on the cd-rom icon. You will now get a few options then click on Explore. This will also let you browse the cd for whatever files you want.

BTW, I also highly suggest running scandisk (not necessary in XP) and disk defragmenter. This just may fix your problem so give it a try. Its also a good idea to do this fairly frequently depending on how much you use your computer and especially if you play a lot of games and/or download a lot of files. It will keep things running a lot smoother and faster.

Good luck
