your pp days arent over, just set it to easy when ya do and dont start until you have lots of spd and dex and good pp skill. IT isnt that improtant to the game that you use it.

I have a party, and not one character even has the skill, let alone uses it

Well you could try this. copy your saved game. unistall Wiz8 delete the folder because it will save it and some files ie. patch

reinstall wiz8 paste your saved game. then put patch on when you get to A Peak.

I donno if that will work, but you can try.

If you were going to start a new party from scratch then you got nothing to lose.

I don't believe saved games are compatible with earlier versions of the game. Someone mentioned it in another thread, though I don't recall who.

Sorry if I am making you repeat the issue, But I am still unclear. I installed Wiz 8, and have not updated / installed any patches, Its straight out of the box and running. So if and when I do patch, I will have to end up starting over, since I have old characters, or do you mean, Having made characters with a new patch installed you can not go back?

Not to my experience. In my first game I started with the gold (off the box) version and ended with the latest patch, with the same party.

Each patching also updates the .sav files. I *think* people start having problem with unpatching since the modified .sav file may not be back-compatible.

NONE of the patches are backwards compatible. i learned that lesson the hard way.

so if you keep moving forward you will have no problems. but if you want to revert to a patchless state or to an earlier patch, then you have to start the game from scratch. and you will have to build all new characters also.
