Chaos Molari bug? (possible spoiler)

After using the T'rang letter to gain access to the mook compound, I picked up the chaos molari, then put it back on its pedestal. The mook don't say anything else about it, but some other NPCs act like I took it. He'li says she heard about the theft and thinks I did it, and two ratkin were waiting for me outside Arnika demanding protection money. Anyone else seen this before? Will the inconsistancy cause any problems for me later on?

You can steal the Chaos Molari as you've probably guessed. When you steal it, He'li - who is often far too well-informed for my tastes - suspects you as the culprit, just as you've noticed. The Razuka that encounter you on the road asking for money to pay for protection is also something that regularly happens (or did in my games). This never had any negative effects in my game, but then I actually did steal it - and according to your post you did not. Nevertheless, I don't think that you will have any problems later on, as all of these events are legitimate ones that do eventually occur.

Are you certain that you replaced the Chaos Molari (and not mistaken it with another orb you may or may not have in your posession)? Everything that you have described is part of the game as far as I know, but usually not (in my experience) unless you actually have the Chaos Molari in your posession.

I *tried* to replace it with another orb (the "Astral Dominae (fake)"), but it didn't work, so I still have the fake AD and the CM still sits on its pedestal.

What happened exactly when you tried? Not meaning to ask a stupid question here, but I have to admit, I'm a little boggled. You should be able to switch them by taking the fake AD out of your inventory and placing it on the pedestal.

Hmm, maybe I just missed the hotspot. I clicked all around the top of the pedestal and only got the "on second thought you might want to keep that" message.

You need to pick up the Chaos Molari and put it in your inventory then put the AD(fake) on the pedestal.

Ah, yes I think you might have misclicked. [img]smile.gif[/img] Try getting closer to the pedestal before trying - sometimes that makes all the difference.
