Does anyone else here think that multiplayer is incredibly slow. I mena like when you pause, it takes 2-3seconds b4 you can un pause. V V V Annoying (please tell me its not just my pc).
Also if i continue with this slow game, will i still see all the romance / talking interaction between the NPC's that i do have? Cheers quote:

Welcome
![]() Yes, my computer does that as well. It seems the more made up guys you have in your party, the worse it is. I went through with 6 made up guys(not recommended, can't get NPC's) and it was painfully slow. And don't even think about auto pause working. The enemies have cast 5 prot spells and hit me twice before it says "enemies sighted". Unless you are going into a new area,ie. through doors and up stairs have your finger on the space bar, cause you will be quicker then the auto feature. Help yourself out by shutting down as many programs as you can, and turn off antivirus software and it should improve. If you have any invisible or Hide in Shadows guys use them to scout ahead to couter the non auto pause.

There is an extremely simple solution to this problem. MP is slower because it runs all controls through the protocol you selected first (IPX, TCP etc) which introduces a small delay which is especially noticable when you want to instantly pause the action. Solution? Go to your BG2/mpsave directory. Copy the save into your BG2/save directory. Play the game as normal single player with your homemade party at full speed. If you're actually playing over a network with other players then the delay is unavoidable, but if you are just using MP to play with your own designed characters then I strongly recommend you do the above.
Welcome to the board by the way. |

EEk! Jim, if that's easy I'd hate to see what you think is hard.Multiplayer has so many advantages over SP that I'm willing to wait.

Galadria, name one advantage to multi-player that isnt lost when copying it over. you get less lag, auto pause works, you can cast healing spells automaticaly, the list goes on. and you still achieve the primary purpose of a multi-player single-player game, which iis to make up more of your own characters.
and avalon, you will get to see all the romances etc with the NPCs you have.

Jim, Thank you very much. Officially you are the smartest chap in the world. That one bug point has been the compete bain of my entire BGII gaming life.
I can finally now play the game with a thief (I dont really like Nalia, Imoen or Jan and dont think the main character should be one). Nice one! quote:

quote: Jim didn't say run a single player game. What he said was save the multi-player save under the single player save folder. This takes out the lag and speeds up the game. Avalon will still have his multi-player party, it will just be running as a single player. |
