Suggestion:

Have you return to the monastery tomb?

Have you finished the 2nd and 3rd myles quests?

Why don't you go to the northern wilderness and umpani base camp to earn some easy exp first?

SPOIL AHEAD

What is the monastary tomb?

The one which you open with the wheel key. Remember the locked door behind the raised bridge in the lower monastery?

Is that the graveyard I've just been kicked out of with my tail between my legs?

You talking about the rune dungeon? Go there when you are lv 13.

And how do I find the Umpani?

From the arnika road, go north into the northern wilderness. There are 2 bridges. There is a huge bridge there that leads directly to Umpani Base Camp.

I had trouble when I first got to trynton, was getting scragged left and right. Eventually made my way back to the first road map (the same map as when you first exit the monestary). Instead of going back towards the monestary I followed the map north and ended up in the wilderness. Gained lots of easy experience there, then went back and finished of the tree and the Rattkins.

Guess What! It really doesn't get easier as you level up. For example, at level 17 I walked from Trynton to Arnika and had to fight 11 groups of Juggernauts, some mixed with Greater Seekers. What I thought would be a walk in the park at this level turned into a nightmare.

The secret to survival, as has been pointed out here many times, is strategy. Don't get caught in the open, stay near cover so you won't be surrounded. Use protective spells religiously, missile shield (deflects most poison spitting creatures as well as arrows & thrown daggers), element shield, magic screen and soul shield for magic casters. In most instances the defensive magic is more important than offensive spells.

This is such a great game! You really don't have to be super strong to survice, just smart.

Some tips for surviving...

After you camp, immediately cast:

Magic Screen, Missile Shield, Armorplate and any other things that benefit the party (like Enchant Blade, etc). Don't wait until you get into combat, because then you're spending a round casting Magic Screen in combat, when you could be silencing those Siges (or casting Missile Shield in combat so those Bloodsuckers or Greater Seekers don't spit poison at ya). Another tip...

Pickpocket.

Pickpocket alot.

Pickpocket everyone.

This will get you money. Money will buy you spell books. Spell books will make you extremely powerful.
