Alright, I'm an avid game, very frequent, in fact.
This game costs 40 dollars.
Im not trying to be cynical, its just that official web sites can say whatever they want without it being true. So I've come to the forums.

So could anyone tell me what they think about this game? And the key points for why I should spend 40 dollars on it?
Thanks.

Hail,

well i played all Wiz parts and i must admit this is the best.
I only played the Demo yet, but it has a very dense athmosphere and the option to tinker a perfect gang of fantasy heros(in the full version) thrills me. I love to tinker with my party, restart often and have fun.
I live in germany and i have to pay 65 $ for my game, and i think it is worth this price.
I played Baldurs gate2 and think this game is better. I liked
Planescape Tourment better than BG2.
W8 can be played turn based or more action like. I would prefer turn based...
Download the demo to test it by urself..

Ciao

Well dont believe us.. believe the reviews

gamezone gave it a 8.5/10

gamespot gave it 9.1/10

check out his post on it! i just know that's why he isn't around today at all! too busy buying it, installing it and prolly playing it!!

go get it!!

V***V

BTW: this is THE best crpg i have played in a LOOOONG time! they got everything perfect in it. scan thru the board messages since it was released, and i don't think there is even one negative post about this game.
oh wait, yeah there were.... because some of us have problems with vertigo and get queasy when playing, one or two players just couldn't continue. i take my compazine so i have NO troubles with that anymore.

i understand your cynicism. we all expected SO much from PoR2 and got royally shafted on it. but this is The Real Deal(tm)

Ever play any games where you say ' Oh, that's cool ' when extra touches add realism and fun? There are alot of those moments in W8

Buy it cuz' it ROCKS!!!!! (You can't go wrong with a Wizardry.)

This game is so friggin' good, it should come with a warning about your potential neglect for family, friends, work, hygiene, etc.

I can safely say that the game is the best I have played in a long time. I did like Planescape Torment, and BG2 is OK but I got bored in the expansion just killing more and more powerful things. Someday I will finish it.

Wizardy 8 is just amazing. It starts with character generation, so many options so little time. I actually played my first party for about 20 hours before getting rid of it and making a new one. This one is working well for me now. The battles are interesting and some are very challenging. The NPCs are well developed and the personalities of your characters and the comments they occaisionally make are great. My favorite is my Bishop who whenever she gets afflicted with something bad (Poision, Nausea, Blindness, etc) says "This is worse than when they tell you the still love their wives." Amazingly humorous.

I can highly recommend this game to anyone who likes CRPGs.
