I have a samurai and he's been doing excellent damage now. At first, not so much, but he's around 11th level (I think, will have to double-check). He's been doing at times four attacks per round with major damage. This is with Haste on my party and Slow on the enemy, but last night, he did 74 points of damage in a round!

I didn't notice anything very special at first, but I was playing incorrectly up until Trynton and I had all of my party members bogged down with items (the weight number was blue) and it slowed them down.

But he always gets at least two attacks now and he whales!

I really like the samurai. Played one with my first party and was very happy with him. He may not hit as hard as the fighter but does attack frequently. With his lighting attack I've seen it go to 5x at level 10. Put him in the front lines with a fighter and monk and they will kick some ass (not sure about the ninja yet so I can't say how effective they are).

From what it says in the manual lightning strike is level dependant other than that information seems to be on a need to know basis and evidently we do not need to know... though i wish they would tell us.

I love my samurai. Best fighter I have in my party. I gave her the bloodlust sword and she's been by far the best damage dealer in the group, even over the pure fighter.

As for lightning strike, it seems speed might have something to do with it, at least that's from my experience, and perhaps the difficulty of battle or the enemy the samurai is attacking? It seems that she's invoking her lightning strike more on relatively strong opponants.

My Samurai is doing okay. With bloodlust, he's finally doing some real damage. Berzerk sometimes adds extra attacks, so I've seen his lightning strike go as high up as 6x, but he's not a patch on my fighter. Spazz, my agressive female fighter specializing in polearm berzerks like mad. At level 9 I picked up a fauchard for her and it's truly sick.

Can't do it. I switched parties and added a second fighter because the samurai stunk in comparison to my fighetr and valkyrie even at level 13. Save yourself trouble and get a pure fighter or pure spell caster. Bards rock as well

I really must say.

My Samurai is extremely dissapointing.

At level 9 he has 50 to his critical strike but it's rare he kills anything at all. Even with the samurai specific weapons in the early part of the game he hasn't impressed me at all.

Pity.

Anyone going monk?

At level 11, my fighter usually attacks around 6 times per round (2 groups of three swings) for around 30 damage per hit. That's up to 180 points of damage per round. My biggest problem is that he kills things so fast that he wastes half of his attacks each round.

How does a samurai doing 74 points of damage compare with that?
