Sorry all...........I have another obscure posting. I can only put this down to the fact that Wiz 8 has not yet made its way downunder
It took me about 7 hours to completly finish the demo. As I am of the thinking that the demo is only a minute sample of the game, at my rate of play would I be too far off the mark if I suggested that Wiz 8 may perhaps take me some hundreds of hours to complete (oh bliss). The question to you good people is....how long has it taken for you to get to the stage you are at the moment?

I believe the guys from Sir-tech stated that the game would yield about 300-500 hours of game time

~~knip~~
davros got his on monday! he's in perth. have you checked the store he got his at? he also mentioned harvey norman (or something like that).... this is his little mention of it. i hate to think that only one part of oz got it, while others suffered miserably! edit it's taken me a looooong time. but i am a charter member of RS Anon (ReStarters Anonymous) so a lot of time was spent in the monastery and on the roads out side of it. i would have to say at least 40 hours (maybe more) and i'm at the swamp. i do everything. at least 5 times, too!!

I honestly cannot tell you how long I have been playing it. I only get to play it in spurts and I get so immersed that I lose track of time. If I had to guess, I have probably played over 40 hours between two parties. My first made it to Trynton before I decided I did not like it. My current party has been to Marten's Bluff and the Mines. I am doing alot of exploring and I am by no means directly following the plot line at this point. But I find that the fun of the game.
BTW - Sorry to hear you have not gotten it yet. |

300-500 is sadly much longer than you'll spend playing the game most likely. I admit I referred to walkthroughs at 3-4 points where I was stuck, but I'd say over the past 2-3 weeks I've spend probably 80 hours or so, and I just completed the game. I did the vast majority of the side quests/dungeons as well. I think that the length was almost perfect though; didn't seem too long or short. For the average player who spends a couple hours a day on it, it'll take a month or two I'd imagine.

i agree with Zorkwiz's views. its not that long, i've a full time job and i spend most weekends with my gf instead of playing wiz8. even so, i've already got all 3 items and i'm about to go to rapax rift. however, like most (all?) sir-tech games, wiz8 is very re-playable. when i finish this, i'm going to replay jagged alliance2. like fine wine, sir-tech's games age well.

I finished the game this past Sunday. I had been playing pretty steadily since it was released on November 13. That's a little over 3 weeks ago. I pretty much played every day after work and on the weekends too and I found the length to be quite adequate. Definite replay value as others have noted. I'm going to play again soon to explore some of alternate plot options.
