Does it make better sense to fight the monsters on the road now or return to the area after I purchased cool weapons,armor, etc. at Arnika?

Do it now, is what I say, if your party can handle it. Arnika will have roaming people that will give you trouble there (won't say who or what since there's no spoiler in here) [img]smile.gif[/img]

If you can handle the fight, then go for it. If it is too tough then run away from it. In general the fights in Arnika are easier than on the road. As a warning I am at level 9-10 and all the road travel is still quite dangerous.

When going to Arnika don't walk on the road. Hug the mountain side. That way, you can,t get surrounded in battle. You can also try running away from the monsters. But once in Arnika you will find shops that have weapons, armour, and spells to get your revenge on the baddies

By hugging the mountains rather than walking on the road you might also escape the notice of the monsters...Also I think it helps if you have your thief or ranger leading the way (highlighted)....seems I dont get ambushed when my ranger is the guy highlighted

Look for the cracks and crevasses along the edge of the road, they're just deep enough for your party, and you can't be flanked or surrounded while you're in one. I've actually held off some very tough mobs while taking fairly little damage using these.
