I noticed something. The Higardi bandits are based on thief ranks, cuz my level 8 thief is ranked as a "Highwayman" so I think other classes will be based on ranks. Anybody discover something like that, or is it just coincidental.

If you right-click on your opponents, it'll tell you what level they're at, and whether or not it's a equal match to you. If you're playing at Expert (like I am) you're likely to get more level 9-11 opponents when you're level 8, and if you're playing at Novice, you're likely to get more level 5-6 opponents if you're level 8.

I dislike the level-based spawning in the game. One of the rewards of beefing up your characters, to me at least, is being able to go back to previous areas and face little challenge. That in no way exists in the game - you could probably have have lvl 99 characters and lvl 95 seekers would spawn in the lower monestary. Boooooooo.

Give it a chance.
I had the same complaint, as I watch the rogues blossom in roustabouts and highwayman. But eventually they top out. These days my ~12 level party can walk form Trynton to the Umpani Base without breaking a sweat. |

I enjoy the spawning, personally. I agree, if I'm in a hurry to get somewhere, it is annoying to have to battle, however it's always beneficial to my characters to level up and learn new abilities.
I say, bring 'em on. Dan |

It's the same way I feel, Dan...although, if I've completely cleared out an area, it gets to be more of a nuisance (and a sad waste of good magic) to have to battle hordes of monsters when you're on your way to somewhere else. Best thing to do is, turn the level down to "Easy", cast Camouflage on your party, and just keep on truckin'. You can turn the level back up to whatever you want when you get to where you want to be, or when you're ready to kick some monster booty.
