Hiya,
SPOILER SPACE * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Here's a question for everyone. I was in Trynton and up at the 6th bough and found the Rakuza headquarters. There was a not so tough guard there who kept asking me what I wanted, but I didn't know what to say. So I just offed him and got a Rat Key and a few trinkets, then I went down another door and met Don Barlone, obviously the Rakuza head boss. Now, is this part of the quest here, to fight him? I wanted to see if anyone else got to him, and perhaps there is a peaceful way to do this. Anyway, he is HARD, and I mean HARD to defeat! I finally managed to kill him but lost most of my party in the process. I think I am going to reload and try again without losing too many characters. And I was surprised what he dropped, the ASTRAL DOMINAE! How he had this, I have no idea, but I wonder if it is random like the maps in Wiz 7 as who has what? How did he get this from the Dark Savant? He's not that tough really, and only has about 350-400 HP. He is just extremely difficult to hit and dishes the damage out like no tomorrow. Perhaps my party was just too weak (Level 10), and he is an essential person to kill. I'd say getting back the astral dominae is of prime importance in this game, so I think I did the right thing. By the way, for killing both him and his guard, you get a Thieves Dagger from each, which is a really great weapon for Myles, in fact he can use them both (cursed though) to dish out some good damage! Let me know if anyone else has tried fighting or killing the Don, man, he's a toughie! Best, Scronan

The answer you need to give Milan Lazone is "Dark Savant".
These folks had some dealings with DS too - you can go and talk to the Don and buy items from him as well - he'll tell you that he has the Astral Dominus and that he's willing to sell it - over 93,000. Killing the Breeders will not make these two hostile towards you - illogical as that is. I didn't like the price so offed him. Wyv |

They don't yet have the Astral Dominae in my game...told me they know I want it and they would offer it to me for a price when they steal it from the Dark Savant...I wonder if that is where Rattus Rattus is off to?! They refused to tell me where he was LOL.
There should be another key in a room very nearby too. |

I actually bought the Astral Dominae from them for that ridiculous price. I have since earned all that back and then some but what I told Milone was "Astral dominae" and he let me through. Because of my beneficient approach both of them are still alive. My question is this, Has anyone been able to fnd Rattus after doing the bank job?

Ok, bit of a spoiler here:
If you wander into the SWAMP (as I did), as soon as you enter, the Dark Savant appears before you and demands that you return the Astral Dominae! He then realizes that you don't have it, starts cursing whoever stole it from him, then vanishes. Of course, it's the Rattkin that have stolen it from him. Don Barlone' is a LOT harder to "off" in this game than he is in Wizardry 7. (Didn't you kill him in Wiz 7, Scronan, and what happened, did someone resurrect the old josser?) I finally resorted to turning the play level down to "easy" (still the same amount of XP) and thank heavens my bard had the Siren's Wail from the graveyard, which made Barlone' go insane (and thus a LOT easier to hit). Also use Armormelt on him, and use "Haste" and Enchanted Blade on your party. He's very resistant to magic, so hit him with your best fighters and let your spellcasters cast party status magic (especially your priest). I also got lucky in that Vi Domina K'O'd him with a lucky shot from a sling...my fighter was able to get in several multiple damage hits on him after that before he came to. Cheers, -Saz |
