Contest Updates!

How is the contest going for everyone? I presume it's been so quiet around here b/c everybody is busy trying to get a mod done by the end of the month. I know I am busy...and probably only 10% done at best.

How is it going for everyone else?

So far, I can promise 10 new backgrounds and probably twice as many new walls. There will be a bunch of new icons and small pics by the time I'm done, too. So even if I don't finish the mod, there will be a lot mor art available.

Well, it's the end of the month and no signs of any entries. Is anyone other than Manikus working on a mod? Are any close to being finished. If so, we could extend the deadline for a few weeks to give more people a chance to finish, if not, we should probably just scrap the idea and see if any other ideas come up.

Maybe a month was too short for a mod, even a short one?

Hmm, I just don't think the contest was advertised very well, I mean, I had no idea it was actually happening untill Manikus started this thread...
I have been working on some art, but I have too many things going at the momment and havn't been able to finish it

aside from internet thats less than reliable, I've been busy with my many projects. some are DC related, as in I've been messing around with a music program that will let me make some music files and sound FX that I'll be releasing to someplace (prolly Yahoo) for DL-ing. As for mod making, I've been plotting and planning for the mini-mod but haven't done much except for an icon or two. What I need is to get some time (hard to find) to make the walls and backgrounds so as to start the durned thing.

Hi there. I didn't get my contest entry done. I've been busy with other DC stuff- the big collaboration project. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, email and I'll bring you up to speed and invite you to join,) Aside from that, I've been working on some small pics (see my website) and about 50 of them are in the post-production stage and yet to be uploaded. But, I'm going to finish this contest mod, 'cause I actually thought of a good story and have a bunch of new art for it exclusively.

SilentThief: once you make the music and fx, email me. I might be able to put the files up on my newest site, as it has quite a bit of space.

Telwyn: I think we should extend the contest to run through the end of July and advertise it. Of course that means starting a new thread here, but also posting at Yahoo!, both on the DC list and on the FRUA list, and then picking up the threads at the very least once a week to ask people if they are almost done.

I'm a busy guy, so my time may not be spent on DC, but I'm always thinking about it. I just need a day off. I've been working for the last 17 days straight, with at least 5 more to go before I'm taking a day off to go see my favorite author (Nick Hornby) speak and read from his new book.

Contrary to Popular belief...I am not dead!

But close.

I am buried at work these days it seems. I honestly can't remember a week where I haven't put in a least 60 hours since..I dunno..February? [img]graemlins/1dizzy.gif[/img]

But that means sadly I have very little time to put into my 'hobby'. [img]graemlins/crying.gif[/img]

There is some good news though. I am currently alpha testing (when I have some spare time) my conversion of the old FRUA mod, To Catch a Theif. So, when teh Spud finally releases a new version of DC, I hope to be able to release it into limited Beta, then to the world shortly after.

Glad to hear everyone here is still working on DC stuff. It is great to know that once DC 'goes out the door' there is going to be a lot of great content for everyone to enjoy.
