I remember reading a while back that multiplayer mods would be possible. Has there been any new info on this?

You know, each time I look forward and estimate the effort remaining I never get it right This time last year I thought magic would be working by December 2000, then I'd be working on the multi-player aspects this Spring. It didn't quite work out that way.

I am working the magic code now. Casting some simple spells and doing some tedious testing of various spell options. I want to wait on multiplayer until after spells are working. My estimates on completion have been poor ones, and people tend to get irritated if it takes me longer than I said it would. If I am lucky the magic will be completed this summer, before September arrives. My real job might take me out of the country for a couple of months, so that will put a dent in my progress for certain. I truly am eager to get started on the multiplayer stuff, it is a big reason why I got started on this in the first place.

Hey CoCoaSpud,

I think that anyone with any noggin knows that some things take longer than others and that you can't be expected to work on DC every waking hour. You're doing a great job, so don't beat yourself up if things aren't out when predicted.

BTW I'd be very interested to see how you plan to implement multiplayer. In the game you never see 'yourself'.

See ya

My plan is to make it work similar to the original Neverwinter Nights that AOL used to run. Not as a public server though, just peer-to-peer.

In short, one person has total party control while walking around, and during combat each player controls a character.

Hmmm...wouldn't that be a little boring for the everyone but the persaon controlling the party? I've never played Neverwinter Nights, so I don't know how well that system works.

Probably would be. I'll take a closer look at how the original Neverwinter Night's on AOL tried to handle it when the time comes.

Cocoaspud,
I don't know if your the one I spoke to a long while ago, but if you ever need some info or descriptions of how the old NWN ran, just give me a hollar! I played for quite a while and I ahve the soloplayer version of NWN as well as the last AOL multiplayer version of the client. I have so many cool ideas to create. I can't wait for DC to be complete. the network addition will be a GREAT bonus to the game. As I said though, I just can't wait for the program to be complete with regards to solo play. Then I can begin building my stories
