In my baldur's Gate 1 game, i got my character up 161,000 exp. (so he would be the best he could be when i started BG 2), then i clicked on export. In the list of characters( with the fighter theif, and mage that BG1 provides for you), I wrote the name Ethan( the character's Name). then i clicked export. Do i have to do anything else ? Cuz when i went into BG 2 and told it to import, it asked me whether i wanted to take it from a character file, or a saved game. But when i look there, there is only the CLERIC, FIGHTER, MAGE, AND THEIF that the game provides for you. If i exported my character, wouldnt it be in the character file ? Or is it supposed to be in the saved game part ? (it isnt there either) I am very confused !! If anyone knows what I did wrong, please tell me. I am very anxious to start BG2.

Well your character should be in the folder "characters" in your BG directory, for example in
c:\BGate\characters\Ethan.chr now copy it to the "characters" folder in your BG2 directory, for example: c:\BGate2\characters\ and its done !!  If you need more help just ask !! ------------------  "Let my spells do the dirty work" Ertai, High Sorceror of the Holy Flame
