I just read this book. I started it at one am, and got into it, I just finished it, at 1 pm.

It was a good book, I liked it, has anyone read it.

I liked it a lot. Just read it not too long ago, and want to get into the rest of the series. A co-worker just finished the whole series, and liked the Bean books even more.

I'm hesitating about reading the other books. They can't have the plot twists of the first one, or even be much related to the original story.

These days I'd rather stop early than late. If I had know I would have only the first Matrix, Read only the first 4 Sword of truth Novels etc. Sooner or later they always bo downhill, I might as well stop while I'm satisfied.

So, there's a couple of point with the plot I had some problems with, anyone else?

Spoilers warning.

First it was the aliens. The justification for the war was the aliens didn't know human were intelligent. Well... the aliens lived in building, harvested and had spaceship, the human too. How can you not realise they are intelligent. Ok, humans don't have psychic connection, but still, it take intelligence to use all those things.

Also, the fact that they said it had to be a child that did it, I have problems with that. I can accept that they are testing for geniuses and training them from an early age. I can accept that Ender is the best they have right now, but I have trouble when they say it was impossible an adult could have done the job, just pull the same trick and he wouldn't know either, I don't see much justification for absolutely needing a kid.

And last, it was what the aliens left for Ender, but this might ok, we just don't have enough information. So the aliens managed to reach Ender using the Ansible, that instant communication device. They never really explained it, but I was under the impression that you used it with an headset. How did the aliend reach his conciousness trough an headset?
