Dear lord did he walk under a few ladders, spill some salt, and crack a mirror or something? He really doesn't get on with helicopters on the whole...

I am a bit of a fan of ER and I thought it was so bloody stupid I started shouting at the TV. he's one of the best characters in that show, actually, scratch that, he is the best character in that show. I have no problem with killing him off, but doing so without a story line was just so pointless...

It seemed quite plain to me that the writers just had too many characters after introducing a load of new ones this series. They needed to remove some, so just decided to kill one off in a big stunt. Ah but for a twist, they seemed to think, lets make it ironic. The upshot is that it isn't believeable in the slightest and it also isn't especially moving. Effectively they wasted a good character. Or at least, thats my opinion.

If he's gone, I'm really starting to hate the series. In the last few episodes I've seen they started systematically ruining every one of my fav chars. Must be the new writers. Grr.

Yeah it was a stupid way to kill off a classic character. It did nothing good for my fear of propellors either...
