Pretty damn good movie hey! I actually went to the Drive-ins here and watched it and although I loved every minute of it, one thing really surprised me.

***SPOILER***

At the end just after Sauron is defeated most people were starting up and taking off.I mean what the hell!!! The part afterwards showing how everyone finished off was just as fulfilling for myself as the rest of the movie. I can't believe that people actually sat through 3 hours of film only to take off at the last 20 minutes or so!

***END OF SPOILER***

Anyway, all in all a simply fantastic movie that I just can't wait to watch at home on DVD!

Well, it did have some mistakes -- and a lot of omissions. But, with a work this grand and sweeping, some problems were bound to crop up translating it to film -- one of course is time.

As for the "six endings to every tale" style of Tolkein, I am glad Jackson remained true to the tale, but I recognize it is odd for a movie, and critics have called it Jackson "indulging himself" through several endings -- which they admit he's earned.

For those not familiar with the book, they have thanked me when I warned them that there are several endings to the tale.

That was perhaps my only disappointment in the movie. I quite enjoyed the part where they clean up the Shire.

I think filmwise that wouldn't have been too good, especially for those who haven't read the books, since after the great climax that part would have been just too long IMO. I still think they should have filmed it and included it on the extended edition though.

Return of the Kings wasn't that good...the actors weren't as serious as they were when they did the first movie...In my opinion, the first movie was the best

Huh? All were filmed at the same time. There was a blending of scene filming - not all scenes were filmed sequencially.
