Just read that Jonathan Rhys-Meyers tested the role of James Bond, bleh. According to the article they are also considering Gerard Butler and Clive Owen.

Personally I'm hoping they choose Owen. If you have seen those mini-features BMW has been doing for the last year, go see them now (http://bmwfilms.com/) He is great in them!

I hope so! I think Brosnan plays the part well.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers doesn't look like James Bond at all.

Brosnan has agreed to do at least one more movie and has also talked about breaking Connery's record of six, so he should be around for a while.
I've only seen Rhys-Meyers in Gormenghast, he did a great job although his character wasn't exactly how they potrayed it in the book, and his bit part in Michael Collins. I think he'd be better at playing a villain then as Bond. Also he's too young (26).

I prefer Pierce Brosman. Why would he want to leave?

However if Sean Connery can become young again i would welcome him to be James Bond again.
