how do use add a spell?

I have seen a cheats page that has a list of spells, for example SCRL77 - Magic Missile, how do you use this in the game? is it used like a cheat by hitting CTRL+TAB? Im new and needing a little instruction. I have the walk through which is of GREAT help. I admire anyone who has done this on their own without any cheats or walkthroughs.

Yes it is a "control/tab" cheat.You need to type the following in the black space at the bottom: CLUAConsole:CreateItem("SCRL77"). Do this exactly as I have it here. There is a website called "The Cheaters' Guild" that list all the codes.

If the cheat window does not come up for you, you must edit a file baldur.ini. You need to add a line like cheats=1, but I am not sure where it goes. It is covered elsewhere on this BBS.

If you must use a walkthrough, afterwards go through the game using only your memory! That will give you a taste of the confusion and bewilderment you would have had if you never used the walkthrough.

In my copy of the game the cheats were already activated so i didn't need to add that line,but if you do: look for baldur.ini in your BG directory, open it(right click-open)and look for the heading,'game options'and add the line: cheats=1 ,to the list under game options.(got it?)
