Is this Disney film for sale on video tape anywhere? It is a live action/animated feature about the Uncle Remus stories (Bre'r Rabbit, Bre'r Fox, The Tar Baby...etc.) Seems it has not been released in the USA. I'm looking for it in the VHS format (probably unlikely).

Thanx,

Mark

I don't know if they are, that classic may have fallen to disney's desire to be politically correct, I haven't heard of, or seen it since the mid to late 80's

Wow, if you can't find it retail, check the used bookstores and used record shops that also carry movies. Good luck in the search, Mark! Great Movie
The last time I saw it was on some weekend family outing in the mid 1960's at a drive-in LOL

The one chance I got see it was at a drive-in. It was the second on a doublebill with the Aristocats. We saw the first movie, but as The Song Of The South started, this thick fog rolled in and we had to go home. So I've never seen it and would very much like to.

Oh you just broke my heart!
I am so very sorry you missed it!
I would love to see it again, esp since I was somewhere under eight years old when I saw it the first time (probably with the Aristocats LOL)
At the actual Song Of The South Site, there is an active petition to get it released in the U.S. I really hope they do. This is just one of those situations where being politically correct has just gone too far!
Good Luck Brer Mark!

I do believe it is available in other parts of the World but not America. Unfortunately it is in the PAL format which is not compatable with VHS. So unless Disney decides to release it in the USA, we won't be seeing it.

I doubt it will ever be released in the U.S. because no doubt someone would sue for what they would call a 'racist slur'...

Hey skywalker, there is a shop in Boston called Boston Sound that converts to and from PAL format. Maybe there is a place near you that does that?

cya,
