I am about three or four chapters into it, and I am so ready for this battle to commence! I am dreaming of the movie...and cannot wait to own the whole trilogy...but definately the third movie is going to be a kick-ass, better than anything I have ever seen or ever will see again movie. I hope it is four hours long, at least!

Don't want to spoil anything but I can't wait to see Eowyns "battle".

And I hope they include the Scourge of the shire, there were some talking they
wouldn't film it. but they kinda have to don't they?

RotK contains my favorite part of the whole trilogy, The Ride of the Rohirrim. I can not wait to see that on screen!

The Ride of the Rohirrim is THE heroic centrepiece of the book. Forget your desperate defences; this is ATTACKING even when ridiculously outnumbered. If PJ can get that across, I'll cheer.

Repots seem to indicate that the Scouring of the Shire might not happen; Rumours abound of Saruman's death in 'Two Towers', and other folks note that Galadriel showed Frodo the ruination of the Shire, and said "This is what will happen - should you fail..." - plus the fact Sam isn't given his box of dirt, but his rope instead - as further clues.

Note also we haven't been introduced to Lotho Sackville-Baggins, Bill Ferny or Ted Sandyman, alll three of which play fairly large parts in the Scouring.

I hope I'm wrong.

I think that a bit more about what Galadrial gives to the company in FOTR will be seen in the Special DVD that is being released in November. Also a bit more is included at the first of the movie to explain hobbits. I can't wait for it to be released!

I knew that Eowin would be the person to kill the Witch King...but I did not anticipate Merry's help...so then...who fulfilled the prophesy That a man shall not beset him... Was it the hobbit or the woman?

Guys,

The Scouring is unlikely to occur.....I never thought it would be anyway, kinda anti climatic for a big movie compared to rings final demise.
If you want more information on whats coming in the next two instalments, then follow this link.

Caution as there are plenty of spoilers, I stopped reading after a few posts....

Cheers

...Jackson is also strongly petitioning New Line to allow him to go over 3 hours for RotK, because he's not sure he can fit in everything he wants to for the theatrical release without the extra time.
