Check this out...I am in the middle of The making of a Mage, by Ed Greenwood, and Mystra has just given him the "burden", as it is called. I have already figured out most of what is going to happen from now until the end of the book, but I was wanting to ask anyone's opinion about Elminster's power. To me, it seems that he has all of the power of the Goddess, to do anything she would do, if she were to personally be there. So, anything that Mystra can do, Elminster can likewise do, yet he is governed by Her, and would not be able to do anything in conrtrary to Her will. Is that close to what you guys see??
Anyone want to know my idea of how this book will end?

So essentially, Elminster's a puppet.

Anyone who's read my rant about Ed Greenwood will know that I'm not his biggest fan. For one his books are boring and you can usually see the ending a mile away.

I won't get myself started again!
