For the first time in many years I have unboxed my entire collection of books (800-1000) and its like running into old friends. So I'd like to recomend some great books that people might like. Todays selection is.....two books by Jack Vance- Eyes of the Overworld and Cugels Saga. Both involve Cugel the Clevers semi-inept and hilarious adventures caused by Iocounu the Laughing Magician and Cugels own lack of morals. LofA rates these books at....***** a must read. Stay tuned for another great recomendation tomorrow, also please send beer. It helps my reviews

Hey Memnoch, thanks for the great beer response! Ok on to todays recomendation...I'm torn between recomending a Sci-Fi book or a fantasy book since I read a lot of both. A lot of everything actually so eventually there will be a *gasp* regular fiction posting. However it'll be fantasy today I've decided....In honor of LadyCloudy I proudly recomend....The Chronicles of Amber!!! Written by Roger Zelazny (he's dead poor guy) you meet Corwin, a Prince of Amber who has been the victim of a dastardly trick and eventually finds out how/why it happened. An epic tale and most definitly a classic of fantasy the Lord of Alcohol rates this series at ***** stars (out of five). Tomorrows recomendation will be Sci-fi, around the same Bat-time, same Bat-channel

YES! I have read that series at least 7 or 8 times. LOVE it... I like the trumps as means of travel. The whole family, internecine plotting is great stuff too. I like things that keep me guessing. Mystery and fantasy. Good stuff!

CloudAmber courtsey's to LoA and wonders if Memny will notice she's here commenting on books

I loved the Amber series too. My favortite was when the corwin mysteries began and Merlin had to figure out just what was going on.. The battle between Order and Chaos is an awesome storyline...

As promised here is todays recomendation: A Sci-Fi novel! After a bit of pondering todays selection is Armor by John Steakley. Sort of a derivitive of Heinlens Starship Troopers (hordes of bugs!) you meet Felix, who is sent into combat as a scout on the planet Banshee. You really get to know Felix and his "Engine" during his time on Banshee. Dont worry about any abrupt plot shifts, it all comes together. I read this for the first time last year and cant believe I missed it for years. Yet another ***** star rating for Armor!!! Maybe tomorrow I'll put out a lower tiered book just for sport. As always send more beer~Lord of Alcohol

Speaking of Sci-Fi, what do people think of L Ron Hubbard's Battlefield Earth? And I'm talking about the book, NOT the movie which was the shittest thing ever.

I thought it was a good book. At times it can plod a little but for the most part it moves right along. I havent seen the movie due to all the great reviews, maybe if it comes on cable I'll watch it.
