Would anyone be interested? The idea is to make new chars just for the session, or sessions, if it works out ok. Scheduling will be a bear, but maybe we can figure out something for a trial run, and then try to schedule from there if we want to continue. Note that I will be leaving my powergame chars home, but I won't be trying to make a char that can't hit anything on the lower levels, in case we make it that far.

Suggested guidelines, open for discussion/suggestions:

1. No respawns. Everyone involved should get some res/raise dead scrolls in the event of untimely deaths, which I do anticipate...

2. It's role play, although I'm sure we don't need to be anywhere near as anal as some of the role play servers I've seen.

3. Should try for a balanced party, some ranged, some tank, a spell caster or two, etc. The point being, we don't all want to be archers, or something.

4. We might try to do this based solely on what we can find.

Suggestions, comments, want to tell me to take a flying leap, or a long walk on a short pier? Post away.

Well if anything weould get be back into EFU then this might

OK if we are doing this then I also suggest the following.

1. No giving of items from other characters.

Would we need to agree on some type of alignment or backstory?

I don't think so. Pretty much make the story as we go. Could be the lot of us found our way to Waterdeep at the same time, for the same purpose, to get rich in Undermountain. I don't see a need to say we did or didn't know eachother beforehand, although perhaps having smaller groups merge into one larger group might be interesting. I agree about the no passing thing too. Come as you are, and we'll work out loot distribution as we go.

Another point, I'm thinking that it might be better to plan on taking a while, and not planning on making a stone run type event. Poke our noses into every corner, to see what we can see. We can designate a party leader, and either follow the leader throughout, or do party votes for any decision making we have to do. Might be good to pretend no knowledge of the dungeons as well.

Well I am for it, as you know rob i really get anal about roleplaying and HATE when i die, I can not stand how people just constantly reload. My vision of roleplaying would involve running away to reheal and buff up rather than dying twenty times just to kill a boss character.

Oooh, ooooh, sign me up! This is the sort of thing I LOVE (and rarely find anymore ).

A weekend might be best scheduling wise, don't you think?

Wish I'd seen this earlier - I'd have held off bringing Sari in. She strolled into Waterdeep last night, though, and is already 15 (not made it beyond Skullport but did pick up a couple levels gratis from Grey).

T-D-C, agreed. Last night, there were a few times I'd wished I'd dropped a little gold (not items) for Sari to make it a little easier, but she ended up with enough drops and selective looting around Waterdeep itself to outfit herself very well.

Ok, my schedule is wide open, for the most part, and weekends are the same as weekdays for me. I'm available unless I have a doctor's appointment or some random event, such as the last week or so has had in store. I am in GMT -6 timezone. So all we need is a date/time, and what class/classes everyone plans to play. I think I'll do a Rogue/Wizard/AA build, so that we have effective ranged skill, someone to open locks, and deal with traps. Note, it will not be the cheese version, I'll take at least 5 levels of wizard.

I can do just about any build we need to fill in the gaps......subject to effectiveness, of course.

How about a Druid? If you have ranged sneaky covered, O'Bardic One, then a little in-your-face nature magic might be good. Hmmmm, gotta think on it now.

Want us to go ahead and introduce (create) our new girl/guy to Undermountain, equip him/her then log off - or wait until The Big Day?

I *might* be busy either Sat or Sun this weekend, dunno know yet. But if I know we'll play, I can wiggle out of that rather easily if I just show up for a little bit.

I am rather partial to Clerics but also interested in getting something done in lower levels. Perhaps a Cleric/CoT. Drop by in a little while.

Most excellent. I'd like to wait until then as well, so that I'll be on the new rig. As sporadic as this thing is, I don't want to have it acting up while in a RP session. So far, the two most hectic to schedule are TDC and wellard, who are both in Aussie land, IIRC. So let's get some time input from them, and go from there. As to generating the chars, I'd say that we could probably do that when we get ready to start. Equipping will be done off of what we can loot, buy, or find. We're short at least one shock absorber, er, fighter type, although a cleric can suffice in that role, we're staying away from respawns, so we'll need a healer type to subsidize potions and such. If we can balance our party, I think we can get a long way, even if it's not in a single session.
